Why Peace Is Currently Impossible and The 2016 Election Largely Irrelevant

For the foreseeable future, more wars will dominate the global landscape!

Nationalism has seen its ugly head re-emerge in the face of threats from
globalism, economic decline and the dramatic impact of technology.

A quick read of this article about Greater Turkey will provide insight into
the dilemma of early 21st Century foreign affairs: http://foreignpolicy.com/2016/10/23/turkeys-religious-nationalists-want-ottoman-borders-iraq-erdogan/

Greater this and greater that will lead to a lot of lessers: less peace;
less funds available for schools and roads and hospitals; less trade
among prospective rivals; and less of the comity between nations that
creates the possibility for lasting world peace.

Right now we see tensions rising dramatically between the United
States and Russia. That combined with old tribal feuds intensifying and
religious discord also increasing in certain places, means whether its Hillary
the hawk globalist or Donald the Putin lover who gets elected in two
weeks, the odds are that none of what they said during the campaign
will matter much because history is in the saddle and events are ruling
the day. https://stateofthenation2012.com/?p=51540

Perhaps the belief in a truly peaceful planet is merely a pipe-dream
for visionaries like Kant or Plato or the founders of the United Nations.

Sadly it was none other than Dick Cheney whose prediction of a
“Long War Era” seems to be the best characterization of what is
happening today.

To me the real “Greater” phobia is American Exceptionalism which
is the rationalization for Pax Americana. Mrs. Clinton has shown
over the decades that she fully embraces that doctrine. Trump’s
urge to Make America Great Again demonstrates his enthusiasm
for asserting force and projecting our power in ways that have a
high potential for triggering confrontation.

The only silver lining appears to be Trump’s apparent willingness
to work with the Russians. Whether he will be able to achieve
that if he somehow can pull an upset on November 8th is doubtful.

The dark forces of war and greed are currently ascendant: how
that can be quickly turned around and shifted into a higher
vibration of love and cooperation remains elusive despite it being
the preference of countless souls longing for a brighter future.

This was my attempt at addressing these issues back in February:

Does John Hunter’s World Peace Game provide a better starting point?
http://worldpeacegame.org/ Or is it Gerald Celente’s Occupy Peace
effort? http://occupypeace.us/

The only thing that is totally clear is that we have to begin looking at
these topics more closely and bring them rapidly into the discussion.
Our failure to do so will doom our posterity to a new Dark Age and
culture of death.

We must find a healthier way forward…………..NOW!
