A Third Party Now Looks Inevitable In 2016

So many factors are conspiring to form a new political party
this election year.

The emergence of Donald Trump as a Republican will likely
lead to the end of the GOP as we know it.

He has served as a wrecking ball by appealing to the millions
of disaffected voters in both parties who are backing him in large
part because he is not a regular DC politician.

Simply put, he may prove to be a tyrant if he wins the White House.
But the rest of the competition who have little to no credibility are
losing out to the New York novice.

The demise of Jeb Bush is as dramatic as any recent political event………except for the rise of The Donald!

Ross Perot and Ron Paul got close to doing in the recent past what Trump appears to be doing successfully now: orchestrate the deep resentment against both Washington and most of those holding high party positions.

Tomorrow being Super Tuesday, we are about to see the icing put on the cake and the rout of the remaining few who are relying on negativity in a desperate, last-minute attempt to slow Trump down.

Since that will not work, those with power within the party along
with their donors are scrambling to distance themselves from him.

From Mitch McConnell to the Koch Brothers, from countless media
pundits and petty pols predicting disaster and to Daddy Bush giving
Trump the “cut-throat” signal of disapproval, either a brokered
convention and/or a third-party candidacy seem all but inevitable.

On the Democratic side, the process is less controversial but still
subject to major problems not the least of which is that Hillary
Clinton represents the establishment elements in her party and she
is currently the subject of numerous investigations including one for
espionage related to her private e-mail account.

With many in the Sanders camp unable to hold their nose and vote
for her in November, a revolt of some sort by the Occupy Wall Street
wing seems likely as well.

In formulating my unity platform for the American Peace Party (APP),
I did my best to anticipate these developments so that a simple
agenda bridging the vast divide within the two mainstream
groupings could serve as a winning formula should events proceed
as anticipated. https://stateofthenation2012.com/?p=32281

I will leave it to the reader to contemplate how well I did in that
effort and to reflect on my suggestions as events play out in the
days ahead.
