Having leaped over a major hurdle of the Electoral College vote yesterday,
president-elect Trump faces far more difficult ones after he assumes office
on January 20th.
His efforts at detente with Russia are being seriously undermined by the same forces
promoting regime change over the last 15 years which he has vowed to constrain.
Pat Buchanan explains in detail how serious this threat is from the likes of John McCain
and the Neocons who are part of the unrelenting effort to delegitimize his presidency even
before he enters the Oval Office.

So it is not just Larry Lessig, Michael Moore and the Hillary Clinton diehards who are
working with Obama and the CIA to stop Trump before he gets started by stating
without public proof that Russia helped him to victory.

The sore losers on the Left who claim to be humanity-loving progressives should now
shut their mouths about his right to be president and get behind his efforts to work
with Putin in the name of peace!
That is a highly unlikely prospect. If it doesn’t occur we are almost guaranteed to see
the MIC prevail in generating more wars abroad while forcing Trump to become the very
tyrant many already believe him to be in dealing with the inevitable civil unrest that lies just over the horizon here at home.
The country must unite for peace behind him and stop Cold War 2 or face the potential
for dire consequences in the years ahead.
This left-right double team of drooling hatred towards Trump has so far failed to stop
him from winning the election and prevailing in the Electoral College.
Sadly, this self-destructive insanity will likely continue by both factions. The MSM is there
24/7 to fuel the fires of discontent. Their almost total opposition provides a platform for
McCain to bellow against the evils of Russia in Aleppo while allowing John Podesta and otherHillary allies to blame her defeat on Putin hacking their e-mails.
Even if this were true, it is all too little too late when compared to the danger of provoking war with Russia through more sanctions and more demonizing that can lead to “lone-gunman” assassinations of diplomats as we saw happen in Ankara on Monday.
A better way forward must be found if peace is to be achieved and tyranny avoided. The Left must take responsibility for their complicity in our wars of aggression whether fostered by Bush in Iraq or Obama and Clinton in Libya and Syria.
The failure by Sanders in the primary and Hillary during the general election to do so was a key factor in Trump’s ultimate success. It constituted a bridge for the anti-war elements of the Tea Party and Occupy Movements to share in their mutual disdain for the Washington Consensus that has authorized illegal wars for regime change in the name of democracy and humanitarian intervention.
It is this narrow path of common cause that is the most important part of Trump’s message: not isolation as his detractors would claim but the promise of peace by AVOIDING FOREIGN ENTANGLEMENTS as our Founders warned us! That should be the message of inspiration for all Americans as to what Trump wants to accomplish.
Can he perform more miracles and actually achieve this? Even though I predicted him
winning the election a year ago, I have been at times overwhelmed by the media assault
and doubted his ability to prevail. https://stateofthenation2012.com/?p=52901
Trump is a deeply flawed person who has already made decisions that make me question his authenticity. https://stateofthenation2012.com/?p=60806
Having said that, I need to heed my own message and give the man a chance. For better
or for worse, he is our only hope at this time. If he fails, it is likely we all fail. I pray against
all evidence to the contrary that those pursuing his demise can embrace this reality and
accept whatever leadership he can provide.
