Hollywood Culture Of Child Sex Abuse Goes Prime Time

Sexual Abuse and Victimization Have Been Rampant Since The Motion Picture Industry Began

It was only a matter of time before this story broke wide open with the lawsuit filed by Michael F. Egan III against Bryan Singer.  There are now three more defendants named, all powerful men who worked in Hollywood during the same years of the alleged child sexual abuse.  The real $64,000 question is, however, what the heck took it so long?!

Who has not heard about the sexual depravity that has ruled in Hollywood for decades, perhaps since its very inception?  Bear in mind that the central organizing principle of the entire industry revolves around star quality, also known as sex appeal.  Let’s face it, sex sells — BIG TIME — and the more you give in Hollywood the more successful you will be.

However, that narrative has always been understood as Hollywood reality for the sultry sirens and dashing first men who have graced the sets since the celluloid first started rolling.  That children would be routinely abused by the rich and powerful in such a callous and hurtful manner is the real dirty little secret that no one ever wanted to talk about.

Because the standard operating procedures around casting, screening and auditioning lend themselves to an abuse of power, it was all but guaranteed to be this way.  When men with that kind of power, feel they can act with absolute impunity, they will.  Keeping an abused child under wraps is easy for them.  The powerbrokers often control every aspect of their lives, as long as they remain in Hollywood.  If they decide to leave the reservation, as Michael Egan did, the threat of going public is usually offset by the prospect of having one’s reputation destroyed for life.

Which is exactly why Michael Egan is such a hero.  To call him an extremely courageous hero is actually a gross understatement.  Now that he’s much older and more mature, he knows full well the consequences of his actions.  To venture forth as he has will surely prove to be the greatest assault on Hollywood culture in US history.  Hopefully many more sexual abuse victims will step forward with their evidence.

Roman Catholic Church has paved the way for the outing of the millennium.

And we don’t mean picnic.  The worldwide pedophilia scandal within the Catholic Church has been instrumental in doing many things, especially removing the deep stigma associated boys and men revealing their stories of abuse.  Decades of revelations about the rampant pedophilia within the Church have changed the way that society views this disease. The highly orchestrated and pervasive coverup of such heinous crimes have made these transgressions against our youth all the more redressable.

Many things have come out about the Church’s pedophilia scandal, but the most instructive is the lengths to which guilty men will go to in order to avoid both disclosure and prosecution.  Once the lurid revelations have been made in the public domain, the individual and his organization will just about do anything to admit guilt.  To do so casts an extremely unfavorable light on everyone concerned.

In the case of Hollywood, there is a complex web of corporations, private companies, DBAs, agents, consultants, etc., which are involved with different aspects of the development and career of any actor.  As a result, there are many opportunities for the many players involved to be fully aware of what’s going down with the childhood actors.  When an exposé does occur, as it has with Michael Egan, the organizational impulse is toward complete protection of all concerned, especially of the accused.  Not to do so exposes so many more power players to future incriminations.

The unusually combative language of the defendant attorneys is indicative of how the draw bridge has been raised for good, and the moat is now crawling with crocodiles.  These Hollywood men, who always had it their way, are absolutely determined to avoid any kind of trial in the press which always occurs with these cases.  They will do everything in their power to thwart, dissemble, misrepresent, mislead, lie, manipulate, etc., etc., etc., in order to avoid taking responsibility for their actions of yesteryear.

Herein lies the tension that has been building for years throughout all of Hollywood.  By Hollywood we mean both the Motion Picture and Television Industries, as well as the many cottage industries associated with them.  Everyone knows what has gone on for years.  The scuttlebutt has revolved around who did what to whom, when and where they did it, and how it just seems to go on endlessly.

However, every party has to end.  The incessant pools party by which many of the group pedophilia rings operated under the guise of some sort of propriety, are well known.  So are many of the other tactics and techniques of the trade by which children are literally traded by one Hollywood mogul after another.  My oh my, Samuel Goldwyn and Eugene Mayer will be turning in their graves with each subsequent issue of the The Hollywood Reporter.

There’s a HUGE difference between women selling themselves for a big part, and young boys who are abused because they don’t know the ways of Hollywood … yet.

Neither case is acceptable on any level; however, the child sexual abuse is a matter of felony crime.  These crimes have been perpetrated for decades with the knowledge of some of the most powerful people in Hollywood … and on the planet.  How so?  Hollywood is connected to Washington DC at the hip, both literally and figuratively.  Bill Clinton’s unseemly extramarital affair with Monica Lewinsky is a perfect example of what goes on all day long in these two realms.

This is the real reason why the lid has not blown off this affair decades ago.  The entire power structure has been profoundly compromised by the temptations of underage boys.  The temptations, but the way cut both ways.  Both the heterosexual and homosexual men seems to have a proclivity for such exploitative behavior.  It’s as though they are hardwired to perform this type of conquest as a rite of passage into their respective pedophilia rings.

Certainly the young boys are offered up as though it’s their Bar Mitzvah — a rite of passage that once undertaken can never be undone.  Such is the plight of so many children throughout Hollywoods history.  Especially when they’re young, these kids are exposed to all kinds of real wolves, some of them in sheep’s clothing; others with obvious fangs. Their exposure sets up the great likelihood that bad things will happen, as they so often do.
