In a perfect Universe, the death of Edgar Mitchell, would be the subject
of much discussion in the media honoring this very special man.

But in the world we now inhabit, his passing yesterday is barely noticed
and his many accomplishments appreciated by only a few.

I was privileged to have spent some brief time with Edgar over the last
20 years in a variety of different situations. Without question, he was one
of the most inspiring people I ever met………….and his death saddens me.

His experience as an Astronaut led to establishing the Institute of Noetic
Sciences (IONS) which serves as a testament to his visionary leadership.

As one of only 12 humans to walk on the Moon, his uniqueness is firmly
established on that basis alone. But there was so much more to the man as
the beautiful In Memoriam statement by IONS CEO Cassie Vieten captures so
eloquently.

Mitchell’s strength of character, quest for deeper truths, sense of adventure
and dedication to elevating humanity inspired me and countless others who
saw him as one of the true heroes of the modern age.

God speed and Ad Astra, dear Edgar, on your new journey to the stars!
