A new poll  of likely GOP voters in New Hampshire shows Donald Trump doubling his lead over Jeb Bush at 24 percent to 12 percent, respectively, according to the latest Monmouth University poll.

The other candidates are trailing Trump and Bush, according to the poll:

John Kasich: 7 percent
Scott Walker: 7 percent
Marco Rubio: 6 percent
Ben Carson: 5 percent
Rand Paul: 5 percent
Chris Christie: 4 percent
Carly Fiorina: 3 percent
Ted Cruz: 3 percent

The pollsters noted that when second choices are noted, Trump takes votes away from nearly all his opponents. Those who fair the worst are Cruz, Christie and Walker.

“The controversy over comments about John McCain’s war service do not appear to have slowed
the Trump steamroller,” said Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute in West Long Branch, NJ. The poll is the first after Trump made the July 18 comments.
