Three Powerful Minutes From Populist Steve Bannon

I invite everyone who wants to understand the populist contempt in mainstream America with the political establishment of both parties to spend just three minutes listening to Sunday’s Sixty Minutes interview of Steve Bannon by Charlie Rose. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/47791.htm

Start at minute 15 and allow yourself to hear what he is saying about his disgust with Bush, Cheney, Obama, the Clintons and the hangers-on in their respective Administrations the last 24 years.

Please ask yourself if you have ever heard anyone in public life condemn Obama for sponsoring a One Trillion Dollar increase in spending on nuclear weapons.

Please reflect on who has ever said during a major TV show that he abhors the politicos he has just named including high level members of his own party.

I am not a big fan of Steve Bannon. But he was one of the very few in the Trump Administration whose views were consistent with the campaign rhetoric that was instrumental in the upstart victory of the New York realtor.

And he articulates in spades his populist credentials during this short segment as well as the rest of the exchanges with Rose. This was especially true when he looked Charlie in the eye and asks: “Wouldn’t you rather see that Trillion Dollars spent on the inner cities instead of wasted on nukes and the Neoconservative Wars like the Bush team got us into with Iraq and Afghanistan?” (paraphrasing).

I loved it! Have Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton every said anything
like that against new nukes or US involvement in support of regime
change? No!

This outburst of righteous indignation comes from the so-called White Supremacist and defender of the alleged racist President Trump. So much of the media attacks on Trump and Bannon are hyped exaggerations of their rejection of liberal orthodoxy evoked to stigmatize them and destroy their populist mandate. https://stateofthenation2012.com/?p=83739

Bannon is actually a more honest and articulate exponent of the Trump Doctrine than the president himself. He goes so far at the start of the interview by admitting Trump made a huge mistake at the outset of his term by selecting disloyal cabinet members and others executive department office holders that have so far constrained his effectiveness.

What I also liked so much is the way Bannon fends off the almost hostile cross-examination by Rose and puts him in his place by indirectly lumping Charlie with the limousine liberals of the Hamptons crowd who are so comfortable lecturing working class defenders like Street Fighter Steve!

I only wish President Trump would shake off his Deep State handlers and
remember the message that got him where he is today. Perhaps Bannon’s
role as Mr. Outsider will serve as a powerful reminder and help deflect the
merciless criticism that could lead to a needless confrontation with Russia
or other misguided decision inconsistent with the best interests of “We the
People!”
