Conservatives are extremely suspicious about ABC’s decision to cancel the highly-rated sitcom “Last Man Standing,” and more than a few people think the choice was made for political reasons. The comedy has thrived on the network; despite being slotted into a very-difficult-to-succeed Friday night time period, the Tim Allen sitcom has grown to become ABC’s second-highest rated comedy next to “Modern Family.” So why, many are asking, would the network pull the plug?
Well, the show just happens to be about a man who is outspoken in his conservative views – a man who just happens to be played by a conservative actor. And while Tim Allen’s political beliefs didn’t worry ABC back in the “Home Improvement” days, the scuttlebutt around Hollywood is that in the Age of Trump, Allen’s conservative ideology was not something the network – or its parents company, Disney – wanted to promote.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker wasn’t shy about jumping into the fray. After the announcement was made, Walker said on Twitter: “Looks like ABC is playing politics with your show despite decent ratings. Sad.”

Fox News quoted several irritated fans of the show, who went to social media with their complaints:

The show’s star hasn’t publicly commented on the surprising move yet, but he did say last month in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel that it wasn’t exactly easy being a Republican in Hollywood.
“You gotta be real careful around here,” Allen said. “You get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody else believes. This is like ’30s Germany.”
Perhaps ABC, which, like the rest of Hollywood, is filled with liberals and Jewish producers, decided that comment was enough for them to pull the plug.
And, of course by doing so, proving Allen right.
