President Trump congratulated those gathered around the podium, including the new EPA Administrator, Scott Pruitt, as he said a few words prior to signing an executive order to kill the appropriately named WOTUS, Waters of the United States rule that is not even a law but has the impact of the most draconian of laws. It was one of the most egregious overreach and trampling on the rights of the individuals ever dreamed up by man, the evil former administrator of the EPA Gina McCarthy under the direction of Hussein Obama.
The content and the power grab were so extensive, all-encompassing and anti-American, and the power-grabbing criminals in the Obama regime so desperate to get their filthy hands it them, that administrator McCarthy even lied to Congress about public access to the “secret science” that their plot was based upon.
Through a perversion of the definition of “navigable waters” based upon the fact that water flows both above and below ground all water was declared navigable because it would eventually end up, in theory, in a navigable collection of some sort. That interpretation gave them the means by which to then declare casual water on private property as under their jurisdiction as well as ponds, drainage ditches and other points of collection or flow. In essence, by claiming jurisdiction over all water, they bestowed upon themselves dominion over all lands. The Obama Marxists had taken a major step towards removing their most hated component of society and the single greatest offense to their global communist state, private property.
That dream and now the beast are dead and buried. With his signature President Trump has returned property rights to the property owners, removing the intrusive EPA bureaucrats, their associated abuse, the financial burdens and the impossible restrictions.
In his statement, President Trump said, “EPA’s so-called Waters of the United States Rule is one of the worst examples of federal regulation and it has truly run amok and is one of the rules most strongly opposed by farmers, ranchers and agricultural workers all across our land. It’s prohibiting them from being allowed to do what they’re supposed to be doing.” He notes how regular, everyday farmers and citizens were being treated by the EPA as if they were a major industrial polluter.
As bad as it was, they weren’t through and personal property rights would have continued to be attacked if the Democrats had remained in power. It’s a lesson that cannot be forgotten of the perils of government power in the wrong hands. The EPA found a way around our Constitution this time and they can do it again. We were fortunate that Donald Trump came along when he did.
We can’t count on that kind of “Trump luck” every time we get into trouble. We need to remain vigilant and that means we need better oversight of these rogue agencies. If Congress can’t do it, they need to come up with a system that will and it needs to happen soon. Unfortunately, Donald Trump won’t be president forever.
