Winston Churchill said it best when he uttered the following words. This quote has never been more applicable to the current predicament of the American people.
“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”
— Winston Churchill
Truly, the American Republic has never been in such a precarious state. The barbarians are not at the gate, they are inside the palace walls. More accurately, the worst barbarians occupy the court itself and sit on the throne as imposters.
This, then, is the present plight of the American people and if more were aware they would heed Churchill’s words. Actually, they would be busy right now acting on his words because of how relevant they are at this very moment.
Whether the people fail or succeed in this noble endeavor does not matter; what is important is that they are willing fight for their freedom, for a durable peace and for the highest good of all. Life will always produce a series of victories and defeats, but the long arc of justice will always reward those who do what is right.
