A close scrutiny of the writings of political analyst Rich Scheck
will reveal that his predictions of more wars and social chaos
continue to come true.
Scheck has been writing about events for more than a decade
to the chagrin of many of his friends who want him to eschew
what they see as his depressing views.
Current events are vindicating his ability to see how decisions
by political leaders produce negative consequences.
The unfolding crisis in Syria is particularly damning for those advocating more reliance on military force after years of failure applying a similar strategy in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and elsewhere—exactly as Scheck forecast would happen.
The invasion of Iraq in 2003 by the Bush Administration was inspired by the Neocon philosophy outlined by the Project For A New American Century and other think-tanks that had a powerful influence on President Bush.
Scheck has stated clearly for over a decade how that invasion
and the subsequent expansion of the war throughout the region
by Obama and his predecessor have produced the tragedy we
see before us today.
A mini-global war is being fought in Syria with a vast array of
forces from NATO and those aligned with Russia pursuing
conflicting interests, all in the name of defeating ISIS.

Ukraine remains a point of extreme danger even though attention
has been shifted back to the Middle East…….for now.
And Obama’s Asia Pivot has resulted in the attempt to encircle
as well as confront China. The Chinese, like their Russian counter-
parts, remain above the fray. They refuse to over-react to a variety
of Western provocations while pecking away at the edges of
the New World Order. Their aggressive maneuvers associated with
the BRICS/SILK Road/AIIB approach of economic development,
currency protection as part of the IMF reserve basket and the
application of military strength in the Spratleys and other contested
regions is the hallmark of their current strategy.

So we have a global war that is expanding and is only constrained
by the reality of nuclear weapons stockpiles that give pause to all
out fighting by the various nations.
As we saw with the shoot down of the Russian jet by Turkey, push
could easily come to shove with massive escalation of fighting if any
party stirs the pot too much. Fortunately that has not yet happened
but the danger level remains extremely high and is growing as more
players (including Germany, France and China) enter the fray.
All these developments confirm what Scheck and many other writers
have been consistently predicting would be the natural result of poor
decisions and failed policies.
A thorough reading of the brilliant article by Andrew Bacevich shows that
even he underestimates the seriousness of the issues. His powerful review
of what it will take to actually win the war against ISIS is daunting. But his
version of WWIV leaves out any mention of what will follow should Russia
and/or China become the targets of Western military action.

As things now stand, Scheck is still forecasting increased fighting and more
wars. I know he wants to be wrong in his doom and gloom analysis. But
his commitment to telling it like it is prevents him from being overly optimistic
in a world that seems intent on finding new ways to keep on killing while wasting
the precious resources needed for the next generation’s well-being.
