Election 2016 Prediction: Trump vs. Hillary

It is now relatively easy to predict who will be the two main candidates
for President in 2016.

Donald Trump is the clear favorite to be the Republican nominee and
Hillary Clinton will almost definitely head the Democratic ticket.

After months of leading in the polls, despite being endlessly criticized
by the main stream press and the Republican establishment, Trump
has emerged as the man to beat one year before the 2016 election.

The prospective collapse of Jeb Bush’s campaign increases that probability.

Similarly, despite all her incredible baggage and dubious public image,
Hillary Clinton appears to have weathered the various storms to regain
the momentum as front-runner.

The combination of her Benghazi performance, Biden dropping out and that stupid hand shake by Bernie Sanders regarding her e-mail scandal along with her hard-core base built over the decades by piggy-backing on Bill’s success, means she can now breathe a little easier about being the first female nominee of a major party for president.

Yet sadly for her, actual breathing may be a significant hindrance to her
succeeding in the general election. Reports of health issues continue
to raise problems. The coughing spell at the end of her testimony has led
to further speculation that she has serious challenges and will not be
physically fit for the job:

What this all means to the future of our Republic (Empire?) is difficult to
predict. No matter who prevails, the litany of serious problems confronting
the nation may prove overwhelming for anyone charged with leading over
350 millions residents.

With our politically, morally and financially weakened country being challenged
by a discontented world led by Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, the
notions of American Exceptionalism and unending military interventions in the
name of Pax America are now facing their biggest threat in decades.

Whoever wins the election will have their work cut out for them. And it is safe
to say that the years ahead for us will not be pretty.
