Celebrities, journalists, and other public figures have been deleting their tweets about the reported taunting of a Native American by a group of Catholic schoolboys after new evidence surfaced that appeared to debunk the entire story.

According to Mediaite, Recode editor Kara Swisher, Sinclair’s Scott Thurman, CNN’s Bakari Sellers, and others have tried to cover up their comments that slammed the boys.

Swisher, for example, deleted her tweet that read “I am thinking of finding every one of these sh—ty kids and giving them a very large piece of my mind.”

Thurman deleted his tweet that shared a news story. He wrote, “Students in ‘MAGA’ hats mock, taunt Native American after D.C. rally.”

Sellers’s tweet, which was also deleted, read this about the schoolboy whose face has gone viral: “He is a deplorable. Some ppl can also be punched in the face.”

The alleged incident happened after Friday’s March For Life in Washington, D.C. Some Catholic schoolboys were waiting for their bus at the Lincoln Memorial when a group of Native Americans walked up to them while beating drums. Some of the schoolboys were wearing “Make America Great Again” hats.

Video of one of the boys purportedly locking eyes with one of the Native Americans went viral, but a video that surfaced Sunday actually showed another group taunting the schoolboys with vulgar and racist language.

The Native American man who was playing the drum said he purposely stood in between both groups because it appeared the schoolboys were taunting the other group, identified as the Black Israelites. But the new video showed the Black Israelites actually taunted the students. The students said they were singing their school pride songs to drown out the group’s speeches.
