A day after “Is Facebook A CIA PSYOP?” was posted,
Storyleak is taken down hard with relentless DDOS attacks
DDOS attacks continue to this very day with no sign of letting up
Storyleak.com has been the victim of one the most severe DDOS attacks ever launched on an alternative news platform. For those uninitiated in the arena of malicious internet attacks designed specifically to take down a website — FOREVER — a DDOS attack is explained by Vangie Beal on Webopedia[1] as follows:
If you have never experienced such an all-out DDOS assault on your internet platform, consider yourself very lucky. This particular type of web-based warfare is nothing short of naked internet terrorism with the explicit purpose of removing your site from the internet for as long as possible. Only the most proficient and experienced of cyber-crackerjacks know how to competently fix the damage and re-structure the platform’s defenses so as to render future attacks ineffective.
There are very few entities in the world that can launch such a malicious and unrelenting DDOS attack, especially with such intensity and over such a long period time. Storyleak was first taken down by the DDOS right after this CIA-Facebook article was posted on January 22nd. The site then remained completely down for a number of days.
Extraordinary efforts and multiple resources, much time and considerable expertise have all been necessary to get the site back up and working properly. The server capability and website platform also had to be substantially upgraded in order to guarantee a certain level of protection.
This episode is really a graphic example of how Freedom of Speech works on the internet. You have to first be able to afford Free Speech before you attempt to exercise it.
Which further begs the question:
“Is Facebook Really Just An Ongoing CIA PSYOP?”
