Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” leverage morally reprehensible, corrupt tactics as a means to justify the end.

Three (of 12) Alinsky character-assassinating rules:

Rule 5:  “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

Rule 9:  “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.

Rule 12: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

The Alinsky rules leverage emotional manipulation to fabricate anger and thereby leverage emotional control over those who fall under the spell. The rules are intended to emotionally enslave followers.  As people become angry, they are blinded to intellectual reasoning; they fall under the emotional control of the manipulators.

“You’re a racist!”

We’ve all heard this three-word Alinsky soundbite bullet used to character-assassinate opponents of the freedom-robbing leftists.    With just three words, a decent, caring person, who’s never once given thought to such an idea, is seriously knocked off balance and put on the defensive. A person’s character is being assassinated by just three words, fired at the person in the form of an Alinsky soundbite bullet.

In the republican primary, a conservative civil war is raging.  Decent, civil discourse that has been the mainstay of caring, considerate conservatives has given way to leveraging Alinsky weapons of character assassination.   This war must end immediately, or leftists are handed the election.   We’re all in this together; please share (as outlined below) what it really means, and says about a person’s character, when such a person turns such vile leftist character-assassinating weapons against someone they disagree with.

Alinsky tactics epitomize the practice of abject moral bankruptcy, since they are designed to destroy free speech and individual freedom by destroying character.   Such tactics destroy the very pursuit of happiness of their targets, and do so without moment’s thought.    They have been the weapon of choice of the left, which demonstrates abject moral bankruptcy of leftist progressives (whether dressed in a republican or democrat label); including, but not limited to leftist professors, leftist politicians and leftist media.

Consider bedrock, basic human values, such as integrity, thoughtfulness, consideration, generosity, decency, honesty and virtue.  These basic moral values are all fundamental to individual liberty and freedom.   Practicing such basic values of common decency includes recognizing a person’s freedom to speak, pursue their own happiness, and go about their lives without undergoing character assassination from people who may have a different opinion.

Those who are quick to fire torrents of Alinsky bullets with their soundbite machine guns, do so because they have an inferior argument that will lose in a fair, decent, and respectable debate.  These are weapons of fomenting unrest.  They are weapons of revolution.  They are meant to destroy, not foster civil discourse and improve the civil society.

We are all best served to see through those who attack character instead of engaging in civil debate.    Such immoral tactics are used by leftist progressives who seek power at the expense of freedom.    These leftist progressives typically call themselves democrats, however, they are republicans as well.  Claiming to be a republican does not make one a conservative; the opposite of an Alinsky practitioner.  The only way to distinguish such leftist is to observe whether they treat their opponents with decency, and overall, demonstrate virtue and integrity, or engage in Alinsky tactics, such as firing torrents of character-assassinating soundbite bullets at their opponents without a second thought as to what the truth may be.
