A colleague of mine recently chastised me for looking at the recent eclipse
rather than heed his warning that doing so might bring bad luck to me and
the nation.
This very intelligent writer and researcher then went on to say that
the eclipse had brought bad luck to America as seen by the devastating
floods in Houston and other parts of Texas. Why you should NOT watch Monday’s solar eclipse
I responded by saying that I could see at least one positive aspect to
the tragedy: the potential for this event saving Trump’s presidency.
I based that conclusion after seeing just one photo of the Commander-
In-Chief kissing a black child while he and Melania were making the
rounds in that ravaged city.
Now comes Alex Jones, a relentless if deeply flawed proponent of the
“Infowar” who has spent the last 2 decades taking on the Deep State
with his radio show, videos and other programming to combat the
Globalist forces he sees as a threat to our Republic.
Jones, a huge fan of Trump’s who many believe was a major factor
in his upset victory in the 2016 election, has released a powerful video
documenting exactly what I intimated in my reply to this friend.

Being the long-winded fellow that he is, Jones spends a couple of
minutes bracketing the short piece that shows the President rising
to the occasion in Texas and literally embracing all the victims of
Harvey, young and old, black and white.
You do NOT have to be a big fan of either Jones or Trump to be moved
by this show of compassion. Yes, it is staged to gain maximum sympathy
for the President as well as for those displaced by the floods.
But it is touching none the less in a way that shows the man as far more
human that the ugly, racist tyrant the Mainstream Media have been
claiming him to be for two years now.
Will this video save Trump’s presidency and America with it? I do not
claim to know the answer. But my intuition remains relevant: rather than
the total eclipse being an inauspicious tragedy, it contains within it the
real chance it can bring us together and be a healing moment for our
wounded country.
That is my deepest prayer and if means Trump survives, so be it!
By these simple gestures, he has taken a big step in uniting “we the
people” at a time of deep division. I am grateful for this and hope he
can sustain the momentum created in Texas in the months ahead.
