Steve Bannon will be able to better serve President Donald Trump now that he’s out as White House chief strategist and back as executive chairman of conservative news website Breitbart, David Horowitz, author of the New York Times bestseller “Big Agenda,” told Newsmax TV on Monday.
“By moving outside, he’s going to be able to target all those enemies of Trump within the White House and to rally the only real weapon that Trump has… the real base on which he stands, and that is the people,” Horowitz said to Miranda Khan on Newsmax’s “America Talks Live.”
“Trump was elected by an electorate that wasn’t fooled by the lying fake news media, that wasn’t fooled by all these phony cries of racism. Those people are what Trump’s survival depends on.
“And with his ally, Steve Bannon, outside but in probably the most significant media organization, certainly internet organization out there, this is very good for Trump.”
Horowitz, liberal-turned-conservative and founder of The David Horowitz Freedom Center, added that Bannon’s departure takes “some of the heat off” Trump because of charges by liberals that Bannon has deep alt-right ties.
“Trump is in a bind when somebody has been targeted. I mean a disgraceful campaign against Steve Bannon. The true racists in our society are all those Democrats and liberals who attack Steve Bannon, calling him an anti-Semite, a white nationalist, a neo-Nazi,” Horowitz said.
“Bannon can get him tremendous support on the outside … How did Trump get in office in the first place? He got it by mobilizing people and Bannon is very well situated to do that now.”
