What are they afraid of? Why so much redacting? Why such unequal \u201cjustice?\u201d At some point I will have no choice but to use the powers granted to the Presidency and get involved!<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/991690248399794176?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 2, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The complaints follow the leak of approximately four-dozen questions the Special Counsel would like to ask the President, ranging from what Trump knew about alleged Russian efforts to interfere with the 2016 US election, to whether he tried to obstruct justice when he fired former FBI Director James Comey.<\/p>\n<p>Trump and his legal team are engaged in\u00a0<strong>ongoing negotiations<\/strong>\u00a0with special counsel Robert Mueller&#8217;s team over whether the president will agree to be interviewed as part of the Russia (and now\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2018-04-09\/fbi-raids-office-trump-lawyer-michael-cohen\">Stormy Daniels<\/a>) investigation. Mueller warned Trump&#8217;s lawyers in a March meeting that he could issue a subpoena for the President to testify before a grand jury,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/setup-and-trap-trump-lashes-out-at-investigation-into-obstruction-of-justice\/2018\/05\/02\/88c78e4e-4d32-11e8-b725-92c89fe3ca4c_story.html?utm_term=.bd9f62343265\">according to four people<\/a>familiar with the situation.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Trump had said previously that he would be willing to have a face-to-face meeting with Mueller or his team, but\u00a0<strong>more recently he has wavered on the prospect<\/strong>. Some of Trump\u2019s advisers have counseled that\u00a0<strong>he could risk being accused of perjury<\/strong>\u00a0if he submits to open-ended questioning from Mueller and provides meandering answers. &#8211;<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/setup-and-trap-trump-lashes-out-at-investigation-into-obstruction-of-justice\/2018\/05\/02\/88c78e4e-4d32-11e8-b725-92c89fe3ca4c_story.html?utm_term=.bd9f62343265\">Washington Pos<\/a>t<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Last year Trump said he would be &#8220;100%&#8221; willing to testify undre oath, while telling\u00a0<em>ABC News&#8217;<\/em>s Jonathan Karl in January &#8220;I would love to do that&#8230;I&#8217;d like to do it as soon as possible,&#8221; adding\u00a0\u201cYou know I think things are still in a lane, working toward a resolution of the interview issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier Thursday tweet, Trump quoted former US Attorney Joe diGenova, who recently appeared on SiriusXM&#8217;s\u00a0<em>The Michael Smerconish Program\u00a0<\/em>where he described Mueller&#8217;s probe as\u00a0\u201c<strong>an outrageous, sophomoric, juvenile intrusion into the president\u2019s unfettered power to fire anyone in the executive branch.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>The questions are an intrusion into the President&#8217;s Article 2 powers<\/strong>\u00a0under the Constitution to fire any Executive Branch Employee,&#8221; tweeted Trump, citing diGenova.<\/p>\n<p>DiGenova and his wife, Victoria Toensing, were tapped last month\u00a0to represent Trump in the Mueller probe, only to have to withdraw over conflicts. Appearing on\u00a0<em>Fox News<\/em>\u00a0Wednesday, Toensing suggested that\u00a0<strong>Trump might be accused of perjury if something he says conflicts with claims by James Comey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Toensing, who was recruited for Trump\u2019s legal team but did not join because of client conflicts, recalled the case of I. Lewis \u201cScooter\u201d Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Richard B. Cheney.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Libby, whom Toensing represented, was convicted of obstruction of justice and other charges in 2007 stemming from an investigation of a leak of a CIA officer\u2019s identity. Flood &#8211; a veteran Washington lawyer who represented Bill Clinton during his impeachment.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In a phone interview, Mr. Cobb said he informed the president weeks ago that he wanted to retire.
