There was the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against\u00a0Terrorists<\/strong>\u00a0(AUMF) passed on\u00a0September 14, 2001<\/u><\/a>. That AUMF applies to terrorists only. That authorization has been stretched out by Dubya and Obama. Even Trump is using it to \u201cfight ISIS in Syria\u201d, but\u2026 Assad, no matter how well or badly he treats his people, is NOT a terrorist \u2013 he is a duly elected head of the country. Period!<\/p>\n 2. There was another AUMF – the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against\u00a0Iraq<\/strong>\u00a0enacted on October 16, 2002<\/u><\/a>. The Iraq Resolution applies to Iraq only and has nothing to do with Syria. Period!<\/p>\n
