Report: McMaster Out, But White House Denies<\/h1>\n

National Security Adviser Gen. H.R. McMaster will depart the White House, following months of indications that President Donald Trump was seeking to replace him.<\/h2>\n

The\u00a0Washington Post<\/em>\u00a0broke<\/a>\u00a0news of Trump\u2019s decision Thursday night, citing five administration sources.<\/p>\n

Strong evidence\u00a0points<\/a>\u00a0to George W. Bush\u2019s ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton as a leading candidate to replace McMaster. Bolton canceled his appearance on\u00a0Breitbart News Daily<\/em>\u00a0Thursday morning, just hours before news broke of the decision to dismiss McMaster.<\/p>\n

Sources with knowledge of the job search<\/span>\u00a0told Breitbart News that others in consideration include\u00a0retired U.S. Army general and Trump National Security Council member Joseph \u201cKeith\u201d Kellogg and current White House Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kellogg served as acting national security adviser before McMaster was selected following Gen. Michael Flynn\u2019s unceremonious dismissal from the post in February 2017 over his lack of candor regarding his transition period communication with Russian diplomats.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bossert, who also served in the George W. Bush administration, is a popular candidate among globalist elements of the administration, according to the same sources. Last April, Bossert\u00a0accompanied<\/a>\u00a0presidential son-in-law and White House Adviser Jared Kushner on the now-infamous trip to Iraq, where Kushner was snapshotted in his sharpie-monogrammed bulletproof vest.<\/span><\/p>\n

A rift between the President and McMaster, who was appointed national security adviser in the wake Flynn\u2019s departure, has grown since he took up the post. In July, reports\u00a0claimed<\/a>\u00a0McMaster had greivously insulted Trump\u2019s intelligence at a dinner. Since then, relations appear to only have grown more strained, with\u00a0left-wing groups<\/a>\u00a0and Democrats frequently\u00a0defending<\/a>\u00a0McMaster and right-leaning foreign policy experts\u00a0attacking<\/a>\u00a0him.<\/p>\n

Some reports\u00a0indicate<\/a>\u00a0the final straw may come when McMaster\u2019s relationship with Trump\u2019s other leading generals in the White House, Chief of Staff John Kelly and Secretary of Defense James Mattis, soured irreparably.<\/p>\n

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders issued a quick denial of the\u00a0Washington Post\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0reporting on Twitter, indicating National Security Advisor Gen. H.R. McMaster will remain in his position:<\/p>\n
