Hundreds of students in Maryland on Wednesday walked out of class and\u00a0began marching toward the U.S. Capitol to demand action on gun control.<\/p>\n
Students at Montgomery Blair High School in\u00a0Montgomery County planned a\u00a0walkout through social media,\u00a0according to a reporter from ABC 7<\/a>.<\/p>\n According to Fox 5<\/a>, students at\u00a0Richard Montgomery and Bethesda-Chevy\u00a0Chase<\/span><\/span>\u00a0high schools are also taking part in a walkout.<\/p>\n The students will finish the rally at the Capitol.<\/p>\n The march comes after 17 people were killed last week when a gunman opened fire at a high school in Florida.<\/p>\n Students have become vocal advocates in recent days for gun control, demanding that lawmakers take action to prevent another school shooting.<\/p>\n On Tuesday, students from a high school in Florida staged a walkout and marched toward the\u00a0school where the shooting took place as a call to action and a show of solidarity.<\/p>\n Students who survived the Florida high school shooting are at the state’s capital Wednesday to talk to lawmakers about gun control.<\/p>\n Students have also planned a march later this year in Washington, D.C., to protest gun violence.<\/p>\n Several other school walkouts\u00a0are taking place or are scheduled across the country including ones in the\u00a0Milwaukee<\/a>\u00a0area,\u00a0Arizona<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0New Jersey<\/a>.<\/p>\n A superintendent\u00a0in a Texas school district is warning that students\u00a0will be suspended<\/a>\u00a0if they cause any disruptions to protest gun violence.<\/p>\n
