President Trump is being criticized over comments he made during a speech in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he accused Democrats of being \u201ctreasonous\u201d and \u201cun-American.\u201d<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s what he said in context:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cSo that means they would rather see Trump do badly,\u201d he told the audience, \u201cOK, than our country do well. That\u2019s what it means, it\u2019s very selfish.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump was referring to Democrats who sat on their hands during his State of the Union speech, and would not stand or applaud when he lauded some of his accomplishments, including the growth in the stock market and historically low African-American and Hispanic unemployment rates.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it got to a point where I even really didn\u2019t want to look too much, during the speech, over to that side, because honestly, it was bad energy,\u201d he continued, \u201cno it was bad energy.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re up there, you got half the room going totally crazy, wild, they love everything,\u201d he added, \u201cthey want to do something great for our country, and you have the other side, even on positive news, really positive news like that.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey were like death,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd un-American, un-American.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSomebody said treasonous,\u201d he added, \u201cI mean, yeah I guess, why not.
