According to the\u00a0indictment<\/strong><\/a>, Lambert and others at Transport Logistics International (TLI) engaged in several counts of bribery,\u00a0kickbacks and money laundering with\u00a0Russian nuclear official\u00a0Vadim Mikerin, in order to secure business advantages with TENEX – a subsidiary of Rosatom, the Kremlin’s state-owned energy company which bought Uranium One.<\/p>\n TLI would have ostensibly transported all of the uranium from the U1 deal, were it not for an FBI undercover mole\u00a0buried deep within the Russian nuclear industry who gathered extensive evidence of corruption.<\/p>\n What many don’t realize is that Lambert’s Friday indictment is\u00a0not<\/em>\u00a0the first\u00a0linked to the Uranium One deal.<\/strong><\/p>\n In fact, Robert Mueller’s FBI had been investigating the scheme since at least 2008\u00a0– with\u00a0retiring Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe assigned to the ongoing investigation\u00a0which was\u00a0hidden from the Committee on Foreign Investments in the Untid States (CFIUS).\u00a0Had they known, the committee never would have approved the Uranium One deal with TENEX’s parent company, Rosatom.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Four individuals were eventually prosecuted<\/b>\u00a0and given plea agreements\u00a0after<\/em>\u00a0the Uranium One deal was approved. The prosecuting DOJ attorneys?
