Sessions\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/national-security\/360292-sessions-wed-need-factual-basis-for-second-special-counsel-for\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pushed back on the need for a special counsel<\/a>\u00a0to investigate a salacious anti-Trump dossier paid for in part by Hillary Clinton and the DNC, and whether or not the FBI used the largely unverified dossier to launch the Russia investigation. Sessions told Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) that it would take &#8220;a factual basis that meets the standard of a special counsel,&#8221; adding &#8220;You can have your idea but sometimes we have to study what the facts are and to evaluate whether it meets the standards it requires.\u00a0<strong>I would say, &#8216;looks like&#8217; is not enough basis to appoint a special counsel<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/players.brightcove.net\/1077863425\/HyenjoxZ3b_default\/index.html?videoId=5646148989001\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A flood of GOP lawmakers along with President Trump&#8217;s outside counsel Jay Sekulow have renewed calls for a separate special counsel investigation of the Department of Justice and the FBI amid revelations that top FBI officials\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2017-12-15\/fbi-edits-clinton-exoneration-go-far-beyond-what-was-previously-known-comey-mccabe-s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conspired to tone down<\/a>\u00a0former FBI Director James Comey&#8217;s statement exonerating Hillary Clinton &#8211; altering or removing key language which effectively &#8220;decriminalized&#8221; Clinton&#8217;s beahvior. The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2017-12-15\/fbi-edits-clinton-exoneration-go-far-beyond-what-was-previously-known-comey-mccabe-s\">officials implicated\u00a0<\/a>are\u00a0<strong>former FBI Director James Comey, Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Strzok&#8217;s supervisor E.W. &#8220;Bill&#8221; Priestap, Jonathan Moffa, and DOJ Deputy General Counsel Trisha Anderson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Also under recent scrutiny are a trove of text messages between FBI agent Peter Strzok to his mistress, FBI attorney Lisa Page showing extreme bias against then-candidate Trump, while both of them were actively engaged in the Clinton email investigation and the Trump-Russia investigation. GOP lawmakers claim the FBI launched its investigation into Russian collusion based on the 34-page dossier created by opposition research firm\u00a0<strong>Fusion GPS &#8211; which hired the CIA wife of a senior DOJ official to assist in digging up damaging information on 5then-candidate Trump<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<strong>particularly disturbing<\/strong>\u00a0text message between Strzok and Page was leaked to the press last week referencing an &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2017-12-13\/we-cant-take-risk-fbi-texts-reveal-insurance-policy-prevent-trump-presidency\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">insurance policy<\/a>&#8221; in case Trump were to be elected President. Strzok wrote to Page:\u00a0&#8220;<strong>I want to believe the path you threw out to consideration in Andy&#8217;s office &#8212; that there&#8217;s no way he gets elected\u00a0<\/strong>&#8212; but\u00a0<strong>I&#8217;m afraid we can&#8217;t take that risk<\/strong>.&#8221;<strong>\u00a0It&#8217;s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you&#8217;re 40&#8230;.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>House and Senate Committees are also trying to get to the bottom of a report last Monday by\u00a0<em>Fox News<\/em>\u00a0which revealed\u00a0that recently demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr&#8217;s wife, Nellie,\u00a0<strong>worked for Fusion GPS<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<strong>the firm behind the Trump-Russia dossier<\/strong>. It was also later uncovered by internet sleuths that\u00a0<strong>Nellie Ohr represented the CIA&#8217;s &#8220;Open Source Works&#8221; group at a 2010 working group on organized crime<\/strong>, which she participated in\u00a0<strong>along with her husband Bruce and Glenn Simpson, co-founder of Fusion GPS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/user237925\/imageroot\/2017\/12\/10\/ohrs.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"302\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Bruce and Nellie Ohr<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Last Tuesday, FBI Deputy Director McCabe unexpectedly cancelled a scheduled testimony in front of the House Intelligence Committee &#8211; thought to be related to the\u00a0<em>Fox<\/em>\u00a0report on Bruce and Nellie Ohr. Text messages between Strzok and Page were\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2017\/12\/12\/texts-between-ex-mueller-team-members-emerge-calling-trump-loathsome-human-idiot.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released the same day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So with Attorney General Jeff Sessions saying things may have &#8220;more innocent explanations&#8221; here are some specific questions for the AG to answer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Did Peter Strzok\u00a0<strong>innocently<\/strong>\u00a0tell his mistress that there was an &#8220;<strong>insurance policy&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0against a Trump win, which likely referenced the Russia investigation which GOP lawmakers think was based on an unverified dossier?<\/li>\n<li>Was Peter Strzok\u00a0<strong>innocently texting<\/strong>\u00a0Lisa Page &#8220;<strong>F Trump<\/strong>&#8221; while he was the lead investigator on the Clinton email case?<\/li>\n<li>Was Peter Strzok&#8217;s edit of the phrase &#8220;Gross negligence&#8221; to &#8220;extremely careless&#8221; innocent? It\u00a0<em>very innocently<\/em>\u00a0changed the\u00a0<strong>entire legal standing<\/strong>\u00a0of the case from criminal conduct to a layman&#8217;s opinion of\u00a0carelessness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/18\/793\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">18 U.S. Code &#8216; 793<\/a>\u00a0&#8220;Gathering, transmitting or losing defense information&#8221;\u00a0<strong>specifically uses the phrase &#8220;gross negligence.&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0Had Comey used the phrase, he would have essentially declared that Hillary had broken the law.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/codesect_0.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-91295\" src=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/codesect_0.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"144\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/codesect_0.png 750w, https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/codesect_0-300x64.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 675px) 100vw, 675px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Was Peter Strzok innocently calling Trump &#8220;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/ShannonBream\/status\/940797491338993664\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a f*cking idiot<\/a><\/strong>&#8221; and a &#8220;<strong>loathsome human&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0before investigating him?<\/li>\n<li>Did FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe&#8217;s &#8220;damage control team&#8221; innocently change their conclusion that Hillary Clinton&#8217;s server was &#8220;<strong>possibly<\/strong>&#8221; hacked, rather than &#8220;<strong>reasonably likely<\/strong>&#8221; &#8211; language which significantly altered the seriousness of Clinton&#8217;s mishandling of classified information?<\/li>\n<li>Were all references to the FBI working with other members of the intelligence community on Clinton&#8217;s private server\u00a0<strong>innocently scrubbed<\/strong>\u00a0from Comey&#8217;s exoneration statement &#8211; making it look like a much smaller investigation?<\/li>\n<li>Before he was\u00a0<strong>demoted for doing so<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; did senior DOJ official Bruce Ohr\u00a0<strong><em>innocently\u00a0<\/em>meet with MI6 spy Christopher Steele\u00a0<\/strong>who assembled the salacious &#8216;Trump-Russia&#8217; dossier, and then also\u00a0<strong><em>innocently\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>meet with Glenn Simpson, co-founder of opposition research firm Fusion GPS?\u00a0<strong>Fusion commissioned Steele to create the dossier,\u00a0<\/strong>which relied on senior Russian officials.<\/li>\n<li>Did Fusion GPS\u00a0<strong>innocently<\/strong>\u00a0hire Bruce Ohr&#8217;s CIA wife, Nellie Ohr, to gather damaging information on President Trump? If there weren&#8217;t such innocent explanations for everything, one might think Nellie Ohr could have possibly passed information from the DOJ to Fusion GPS and vice versa.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Did Hillary Clinton and the DNC innocently pay Fusion GPS $1,024,408<\/strong>\u00a0through law firm Perkins Coie, which then paid Steele\u00a0<strong>$168,000?\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In addition to the &#8216;Trump-Russia&#8217; dossier, did Fusion GPS\u00a0innocently arrange the Trump Tower &#8220;setup&#8221; meeting between Trump Jr. and a Russian Attorney? Or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2017-12-12\/fusion-gps-tried-and-failed-link-trump-jeffrey-epstein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attempt to link Donald Trump to billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>?
