PragerU, the conservative digital media organization from Dennis Prager, is suing YouTube and its parent Google over alleged censorship of their videos.<\/h3>\n
According to the\u00a0Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a>, the lawsuit, which was filed on Monday, \u201csays YouTube\u2019s more than 30 million visitors a day make the site so elemental to free speech in the digital age that it should be treated as a public forum.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe suit argues the site must use the \u2018laws governing free speech,\u2019 not its own discretion, to make decisions about what to censor,\u201d they reported, adding that PragerU \u201calleges that by limiting access to some of its videos without clear criteria YouTube is infringing on PragerU\u2019s First Amendment rights.\u201d<\/p>\n YouTube has repeatedly\u00a0censored<\/a>\u00a0PragerU on their platform,\u00a0labeling<\/a>\u00a0political videos as \u201crestricted\u201d adult content and even\u00a0removing<\/a>\u00a0a video of \u201ca Muslim man describing how he was raised to be anti-Semitic,\u201d branding the video as \u201chate speech.\u201d<\/p>\n After being criticized for their censorship of PragerU videos, YouTube\u00a0blamed<\/a>\u00a0\u201ccommunity flagging.\u201d<\/p>\n As previously\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0by Breitbart News, \u201cPragerU, which is short for Prager University, produces short, concise, graphics-based videos for young people which are broadly based on\u00a0Judeo-Christian values and conservatism, but features videos from the likes of feminist academic Christina Hoff Summers, human rights activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Taleeb Starkes, author of\u00a0Black Lies Matter<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year, PragerU also\u00a0published<\/a>\u00a0a video of liberal commentator and former member of The Young Turks, Dave Rubin, explaining why he left the political left.<\/p>\n Other conservative channels on YouTube have also faced routine censorship, including Legal Insurrection, which was suspended before being\u00a0reinstated<\/a>\u00a0following\u00a0coverage from Breitbart News.<\/p>\n
