But the president brought life back into a conspiracy theory about Lori Klausutis\u2019 death.<\/p>\n<p>From 1995 until 2001 Joe Scarborough, 54, served as a U.S. Congressman in Florida. Lori Klausutis worked as an aide to the Republican congressman.<\/p>\n<p>On July 19, 2001, Klausutis was found dead in Scarborough\u2019s office, slumped over by a desk.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/http\/\/newspaperarchive.com\/northwest-florida-daily-news-aug-07-2001-p-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">According to the Northwest Florida Daily News<\/a>, a couple discovered the 28-year-old\u2019s body the next day as they arrived at the office for an appointment around 8 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Foul play was ruled out after an investigation by local police and Okaloosa County Associate Medical Examiner Michael Berkland.\u00a0<strong>The aide had passed out from an abnormal heart rhythm, which caused her to fall and strike her head on the desk.<\/strong>\u00a0Klausutis\u2019 head injury was determined to be responsible for her death,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sptimes.com\/News\/082801\/State\/Aide_found_dead_had_s.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">according to the St. Petersburg Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-body-related-links\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.yourtango.com\/2017308779\/matt-lauer-fired-stories-rumors-videos-wife-divorce-ann-curry-natalie-morales-savannah-guthrie\">9 Different Matt Lauer Stories, Rumors And Details That Leaked Before He Was Fired For Sexual Assault<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The St. Petersburg Times also stated she had told a colleague earlier that day that she was feeling unwell.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It kind of leaves me with a sorrowness, but I&#8217;m glad it&#8217;s finally resolved,&#8221; said Fort Walton Beach Police Chief Steve Hogue, who was in charge of the initial investigation into Klausutis\u2019 death. &#8220;It brings some finality for the family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A police investigator<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/arts-and-entertainment\/wp\/2017\/11\/29\/trump-suggested-the-2001-death-of-a-joe-scarborough-aide-is-an-unsolved-mystery-it-isnt\/?utm_term=.0dcd6f0bc68d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0told the Washington Post<\/a>\u00a0that authorities investigating her death left \u201cno stone unturned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scarborough resigned from office two months after Klausutis\u2019 death, stating he wanted to spend more time with his family. The banter than got him banned is as follows:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Markos<\/strong>: Like\u00a0<\/em><em>story<\/em><em>\u00a0of a certain dead intern. Another situation that conspiracy theories use to light their flame is an old article by Vanity Fair that tried to link Scarborough with the death of his aide.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/2017\/11\/29\/trump-dredges-up-old-allegations-msnbc-star-joe-scarborough-and-dead-woman-once-found-in-his-office.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News reported<\/a>\u00a0that Scarborough\u00a0said Vanity Fair&#8217;s story was\u00a0\u201cshameful reporting spawned a thousand conspiracy theories.\u201d\u00a0He wasn&#8217;t wrong \u2014\u00a0theories popped up left and right about the Republican and Klausutis, including some about a sex scandal between the two that lead to her murder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s terrible that people are still referring to this as a mystery,\u201d former journalist who covered Klausutis\u2019 case for the St. Petersburg Times\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/arts-and-entertainment\/wp\/2017\/11\/29\/trump-suggested-the-2001-death-of-a-joe-scarborough-aide-is-an-unsolved-mystery-it-isnt\/?utm_term=.0dcd6f0bc68d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told the Washington Post<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s not a mystery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s everything you need to know about the Lori Klausutis, the intern\u00a0found dead in Scarborough\u2019s office 16 years ago and why people think she was murdered:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.
