Democrats and Republicans alike seem to have it in their head that\u00a0President Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0is failing to drain the swamp.<\/p>\n

He is draining it, however, and he\u2019s doing so with the very best of conservative style:<\/p>\n

His administration is cutting through\u00a0Obama-era regulations<\/a>\u00a0like a hot knife through butter.<\/p>\n

According to a\u00a0statement<\/a>\u00a0the White House made in July, Trump\u2019s making good on his promise to slash bureaucratic, ineffective regulations.<\/p>\n

\u201cAgencies withdrew 469 actions proposed in the Fall 2016 Agenda,\u201d the White House stated. In other words, Trump slashed former President Barack Obama\u2019s regulatory agenda by cutting literally hundreds of actions.<\/p>\n

The administration also \u201creconsidered 391 active regulatory proceedings by reclassifying them as long-term (282) or inactive (109), allowing for further careful review,\u201d meaning that the wheat will most likely be separated from the chaff in a very big way.<\/p>\n

And if we know the Obama administration, there\u2019s going to be a whole lot of chaff.<\/p>\n

Combined, that\u2019s more than 800 regulations removed from active consideration by Trump and his team of swamp-drainers.<\/p>\n

More good news from the statement included a fall in \u201ceconomically significant regulations\u201d by about 50 percent, down to 58.<\/p>\n

Mick Mulvaney, Office of Management and Budget Director for President Trump, stated the administration was dealing with\u00a0\u201cthat slow cancer that can come from regulatory burdens that we put on our people,\u201d according to\u00a0Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Washington Examiner<\/a>\u00a0even reports that Trump is on course to top Former President Ronald Reagan when it comes to cutting regulations.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a record hardly dreamed by many conservatives, but according to\u00a0Competitive Enterprise Institute<\/a>\u00a0Vice President Clyde Wayne Crews, \u201cIt took a few years for Ronald Reagan to achieve his ultimate, one-third reduction in Federal Register pages following Jimmy Carter\u2019s then-record Federal Register.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo by this metric, Trump is moving much faster.\u201d<\/p>\n

Folks, this administration might not get everything right, and we might not have everything Trump pledged yet, but know this:<\/p>\n

Trump is making good on his promises.<\/p>\n
