{"id":84269,"date":"2017-09-21T19:10:25","date_gmt":"2017-09-21T23:10:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=84269"},"modified":"2017-09-21T19:11:15","modified_gmt":"2017-09-21T23:11:15","slug":"the-continuing-trend-towards-a-new-political-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=84269","title":{"rendered":"The Continuing Trend Towards A New Political Party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->McKinleyville, CA<br \/>\nSeptember 21, 2017<\/p>\n<p>by Rich Scheck<\/p>\n<p>There is a definite movement towards the creation of a new political party in<br \/>\nthe United States.<\/p>\n<p>Looking back to 1992 when Ross Perot got just under 20% of the vote against<br \/>\nincumbent President Bush and the far more glamorous &#8220;Slick Willie&#8221; Clinton, the<br \/>\ntrend towards something new to replace the two corrupt established parties has<br \/>\nbeen intensifying.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2017\/09\/14\/trumps-new-reality-republicans-and-democrats-are-both-finished.html\">http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2017\/09\/14\/trumps-new-reality-republicans-and-democrats-are-both-finished.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The last quarter century has seen the rise of many efforts to create a positive<br \/>\nalternative to the ossified Republicans and Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>Ross Perot&#8217;s Reform party; the Tea Party; the Green Party; the Constitution Party; the<br \/>\nLibertarians; The Occupy Movement and others, have all made an effort to transform<br \/>\nthe system and restore some measure of legitimacy to it.<\/p>\n<p>Then came Donald Trump in 2016: he built on those who came before him like Perot,<br \/>\nRon Paul; Pat Buchanan; Ralph Nader; Jesse Ventura; Dennis Kucinich; Jesse Jackson;<br \/>\nand Jill Stein appealing to millions of disaffected voters from both parties to make history:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=57250\">https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=57250<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But Trump has stumbled and abandoned much of his platform leading even staunch fans<br \/>\nlike Anne Coulter threatening to leave the fold:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.veteranstoday.com\/2017\/09\/16\/ann-coulter-impeach-trump-now\/\">http:\/\/www.veteranstoday.com\/2017\/09\/16\/ann-coulter-impeach-trump-now\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Top loyalist Steve Bannon is no longer part of the inside team and has taken his populist<br \/>\nviews back to Breitbart in an effort to remind his former boss just why he won.<\/p>\n<p>To a large extent, the 2016 election is still going on, partly because the media and<br \/>\nDemocrats remain in shock that Trump actually won. Hillary&#8217;s return to the public arena to hawk her &#8220;blame-all&#8221; book combined with the unending attacks by the MSM and his<br \/>\ncountless poor decisions have led to the appearance of chaos in the Trump Administration.<\/p>\n<p>But the DEMs have big problems, too. Clinton is still a divisive force with tons of baggage<br \/>\nand unresolved scandals trailing behind her.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcclatchydc.com\/news\/politics-government\/article174454791.html\">http:\/\/www.mcclatchydc.com\/news\/politics-government\/article174454791.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bernie and his band Sandernistas remain active while more moderate party members like<br \/>\nCongressman Tim Ryan are caught in the middle and poised to work with Trump on some<br \/>\nissues. <a href=\"http:\/\/time.com\/4951191\/divided-democratic-party-debates-its-future\/\">http:\/\/time.com\/4951191\/divided-democratic-party-debates-its-future\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So the trend is away from the &#8220;two-party tyranny&#8221; and towards the formation of something<br \/>\nakin to what I called the American Populist Party.
