{"id":83804,"date":"2017-09-14T20:59:26","date_gmt":"2017-09-15T00:59:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=83804"},"modified":"2017-09-14T20:59:26","modified_gmt":"2017-09-15T00:59:26","slug":"daca-deal-with-dems-trump-just-screwed-his-base","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=83804","title":{"rendered":"DACA &#8216;DEAL&#8217; WITH DEMS: &#8216;TRUMP JUST SCREWED HIS BASE&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>&#8216;Blown up, destroyed, irreparable, and disillusioned beyond repair&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p><!--more-->Art Moore<br \/>\nWND.com<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/trump_rally.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/trump_rally.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"596\" height=\"283\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-83805\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/trump_rally.jpg 596w, https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/trump_rally-300x142.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 596px) 100vw, 596px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some of President Trump\u2019s most devoted supporters sounded like they were ready to jump ship Thursday after reports that he had\u00a0agreed on the parameters of a deal with Democrats on the status of young people who came to the country as the children of illegal aliens.<\/p>\n<p>After a meeting at the White House Wednesday night, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi stated they had agreed with Trump \u201cto enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that\u2019s acceptable to both sides.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, tweeted: \u201cIf AP is correct, Trump base is blown up, destroyed, irreparable, and disillusioned beyond repair. No promise is credible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Former GOP congressman Joe Walsh agreed, saying: \u201cTrump just screwed his base.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Columnist Ann Coulter, a major voice for Trump in 2016 because of his hardline on illegal immigration, tweeted: \u201cAt this point, who DOESN\u2019T want Trump impeached?\u201d and \u201cIf we\u2019re not getting a wall, I\u2019d prefer President Pence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump insisted Thursday that \u201cno deal was made,\u201d but he has indicated he\u2019s willing to compromise with Democrats on allowing some of the hundreds of thousands of young people who arrived in the United States illegally with their parents to remain in the country.<\/p>\n<p>DACA is the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program initiated by an executive order by President Obama that delayed deportation for about\u00a0800,000 young people. Trump rescinded the order last week, but delayed\u00a0shutting down the program for six months while urging Congress to come up with a legislative solution.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the outcry from Trump supporters, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders\u00a0said that while DACA and border security were both discussed, excluding funding for Trump\u2019s U.S.-Mexico border wall plans \u201cwas certainly not agreed to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump tweeted early Thursday that any potential deal \u201cwould be subject to vote\u201d in Congress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Art of the Steal\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Radio host Laura Ingraham, one of the best-received speakers at the Republican National Convention last year, tweeted: \u201cTHE ART OF THE STEAL: Let\u2019s hope that Pelosi &amp; Schumer misrepresented the #DACA deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fox Business Network host Lou Dobbs, known as a border-security hawk, tweeted: \u201cDeep State Wins, Huge Loss for #MAGA No Countrvailing WH Force to Globalists Gary Cohn, Dina Powell, Gen. Kelly, Mark Short POTUS Betrayed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fox News host Sean Hannity, who frequently interviewed Trump during the campaign, blamed Republican congressional leadership: \u201cWell Mitch GREAT JOB! You failed so miserably with Healthcare and \u201cexcessive expectations\u201d now @POTUShas to deal with Dem Leaders!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seeking to reassure his base, Trump tweeted: \u201cNo deal was made last night on DACA. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. Would be subject to vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But he also indicated the young people who came illegally with their parents might be allowed to stay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoes anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really!\u2026..\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He tweeted further: \u201c\u2026They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own \u2013 brought in by parents at young age. Plus BIG border security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Breitbart News,\u00a0run by former Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon, topped its page with the splash \u201cAmnesty Don,\u201d accompanied by an article headlined \u201cTrump Caves In on DACA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joel B. Pollak, senior editor-at-large for Breitbart News, tweeted: \u200f\u201dRepublican voters did not elect Trump in 2016 to pass what Barack Obama could not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-government\/2017\/09\/14\/analysis-donald-trump-getting-rolled-daca\/\">In a column Thursday<\/a>,\u00a0Pollak\u00a0noted that the previous day he presented three conditions that Trump should insist upon before agreeing to any deal on DACA: \u201c1. There can be no path to citizenship for DACA beneficiaries; 2. The border wall must be funded; and 3.
