As Breitbart&#8217;s Charlie Spiering reports, Bannon jas returned to Breitbart News as Executive Chairman of Breitbart News &#8220;and chaired our evening editorial meeting&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8Siren\ud83d\udea8 Steve Bannon returned to Breitbart News as Executive Chairman of Breitbart News and chaired our evening editorial meeting<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Charlie Spiering (@charliespiering) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/charliespiering\/status\/898666290956709888?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 18, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<div class=\"resize-sensor\"><\/div>\n<p>As The Hill adds, Bannon reclaimed the title of Breitbart&#8217;s executive chairman and directed the outlet\u2019s Friday editorial meeting, the website said in a statement on Friday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe populist-nationalist movement got a lot stronger today,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>said Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow. \u201cBreitbart gained an executive chairman with his finger on the pulse of the Trump agenda.<\/p>\n<p>As chairman, Bannon oversaw massive growth of the populist website before leaving to be chairman of Trump\u2019s campaign. Bannon never settled into his role as chief strategist in the White House, where he feuded bitterly with ideological rivals like Trump\u2019s son-in-law Jared Kushner, economic adviser Gary Cohn and national security adviser H.R. McMaster.<\/p>\n<p>Breitbart eagerly accepted Bannon back into the fold. \u201cBreitbart\u2019s pace of global expansion will only accelerate with Steve back,\u201d said Breitbart president Larry Solov. \u201cThe sky\u2019s the limit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2017-08-18\/theyre-going-thermonuclear-breitbart-declares-war-white-house\">Breitbart has warned of war &#8216;against&#8217; Trump<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<em>should he break from the policies upon which he was elected<\/em>\u00a0&#8211; former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon has spoken for the first time since being fired today.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Bloomberg, Bannon said he was &#8220;going to war&#8221; for Trump&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"quote_end\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201c<strong>If there\u2019s any confusion out there, let me clear it up.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>I\u2019m leaving the White House and going to war for Trump against his opponents&#8230; on Capitol Hill, in the media, and in corporate America,<\/strong>\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So, war it is!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/user3303\/imageroot\/2017\/08\/17\/20170818_warbnan1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/user3303\/imageroot\/2017\/08\/17\/20170818_warbnan1_0.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"297\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Presumably, being outside The White House allows him more freedom to pursue his tactics. The question is &#8211;\u00a0<em>given the narrative being spun is he resigned by mutual agreement\u00a0<\/em>&#8211; does Bannon stil have Trump&#8217;s ear? And if so, will Cohn, Kelly, and Kushner stand for it?\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2017-08-16\/bannon-breaks-silence-slams-far-right-clowns-goldman-lobbyists-vows-economic-war-chi\">We already know his agenda is anything but in line with theirs.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Notably The White House formally launched a probe of China&#8217;s intellectual property practices tonight &#8211;<strong>\u00a0invoking Section 301 just as Bannon had said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With regard his\u00a0<strong><u>internal adversaries<\/u><\/strong>, at the departments of State and Defense, who think the United States can enlist Beijing\u2019s aid on the North Korean standoff, and at Treasury and the National Economic Council who don\u2019t want to mess with the trading system, Bannon was ever harsher&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"quote_end\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>\u201cOh, they\u2019re wetting themselves,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0he said, explaining that the Section 301 complaint, which was put on hold when the war of threats with North Korea broke out, was shelved only temporarily, and will be revived in three weeks. As for other cabinet departments, Bannon has big plans to marginalize their influence.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThat\u2019s a fight I fight every day here,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re still fighting. There\u2019s Treasury and [National Economic Council chair] Gary Cohn and Goldman Sachs lobbying.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe gotta do this. The president\u2019s default position is to do it, but\u00a0<strong>the apparatus is going crazy.<\/strong>\u00a0Don\u2019t get me wrong. It\u2019s like, every day.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><u><strong>Bannon dismissed the far-right as irrelevant:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"quote_end\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cEthno-nationalism\u2014it&#8217;s losers. It&#8217;s a fringe element. I think the media plays it up too much, and we gotta help crush it, you know, uh, help crush it more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThese guys are a collection of clowns,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And finally, Bannon scoffed at The\u00a0<u><strong>Democrats<\/strong><\/u>&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"quote_end\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201c&#8230;<strong>the longer they talk about identity politics, I got \u2019em.<\/strong>\u00a0I want them to talk about racism every day.
