{"id":80633,"date":"2017-08-08T22:10:30","date_gmt":"2017-08-09T02:10:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=80633"},"modified":"2017-08-08T22:15:55","modified_gmt":"2017-08-09T02:15:55","slug":"google-the-censor-of-all-censors-improplerly-censors-an-employee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=80633","title":{"rendered":"GOOGLE: The Censor of all Censors Wrongfully Censors an Employee"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>&#8220;I Have A Right To Express My Concerns&#8221;: Fired Google Engineer Will Pursue Legal Action; Assange Offers Job<\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->ZeroHedge.com<\/p>\n<p>The computer engineer fired by Google for writing a memo in which he slammed the company&#8217;s anti-conservative culture and said women are less suited to certain roles in tech and leadership,<strong>\u00a0is considering taking legal action against the company.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, now former Google employee James Damore,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2017-08-07\/*WELLS%20FARGO%20IS%20SAID%20TO%20FACE%20SF%20FED%20INQUIRY%20ON%20CAR%20INSURANCE:NYT\">caused outrage when he circulated a manifesto on Friday,\u00a0<\/a>complaining about Google\u2019s \u201cideological echo chamber\u201d alleging women have lower tolerance for stress and that conservatives are more conscientious. The chess master, who studied at Harvard, Princeton and MIT and worked at Google&#8217;s Mountain View HQ, was fired on Monday after the search giant\u2019s chief executive, Sundar Pichai, said portions of Damore\u2019s 10-page memo \u201cviolate our code of conduct and cross the line by advancing harmful gender stereotypes\u201d despite saying in the same memo that Google employees shouldn&#8217;t be afraid of speaking their minds.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/user5\/imageroot\/2017\/07\/20\/james%20damore%20big_0.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One day after Google announced the engineer was fired, Damore said he would \u201clikely be pursuing legal action\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI have a right to express my concerns about the terms and conditions of my working environment and to bring up potentially illegal behavior, which is what my document does,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>he said in an email reported by the New York Times.<\/p>\n<p>In a further email to Breitbart, he reportedly said: \u201c<strong>They just fired me for \u2018perpetuating gender stereotypes<\/strong>\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While liberals were delighted by the decision, others accused Google of hypocrisy as the company is itself currently involved in litigation with the U.S. Department of Labor alleging the company systemically discriminates against women. Google has denied the charges, arguing that it doesn\u2019t have a gender gap in pay,\u00a0<strong>but has declined to share full salary information with the government. According to the company\u2019s most recent demographic report, 69 percent of its workforce and 80 percent of its technical staff are male<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Among other things, Damore argued that\u00a0<strong>\u201cGoogle\u2019s left bias has created a politically correct mono-culture that maintains its hold by shaming dissenters into silence\u201d<\/strong>. He said: \u201cThe distribution of preferences and abilities of men and women differ in part due to biological causes, and that these differences may explain why we don\u2019t see equal representation of women in tech and leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his memo, subtitled \u201cHow bias clouds our thinking about diversity and inclusion\u201d, he said he wanted to increase women\u2019s representation in tech without resorting to discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>He complained that \u201cdiscriminating just to increase the representation of women in tech is as misguided and biased as mandating increases for women\u2019s representation in the homeless, work-related and violent deaths, prisons and school dropouts\u201d. His suggestions included the company making tech and leadership less stressful because \u201cwomen are on average more prone to anxiety\u201d. His dismissal followed &#8220;outrage&#8221; in Silicon Valley because Damore sought to explain the gender imbalance in the tech industry as a function of biological difference.<\/p>\n<p>The senior software engineer had worked at Google since 2013 and had previously studied computational biology at Princeton, Harvard and the University of Illinois where he graduated with a bachelor\u2019s degree in 2010 in the top 3% of his class, according to his CV posted online and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2017\/aug\/08\/google-employee-fired-diversity-row-considers-legal-action-james-damore\">noted by the Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, said that he would like to hire Damore, declaring \u201ccensorship is for losers\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">1\/ Censorship is for losers. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wikileaks?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WikiLeaks<\/a> is offering a job to fired Google engineer James Damore. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tmrflE72p3\">https:\/\/t.co\/tmrflE72p3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Defend Assange Campaign (@DefendAssange) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DefendAssange\/status\/894834730461483008?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 8, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Writing on Twitter he said: \u201cWikiLeaks is offering a job to fired Google engineer James Damore. Women and men deserve respect. Breitbart quoted an anonymous employee who claimed that \u201cthe diversity gospel has been woven into nearly everything the company does, to the point where senior leaders focus on diversity first and technology second.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n\u201cFor conservative employees, this is obviously demoralising, but it is also dangerous.
