{"id":77994,"date":"2017-07-16T16:11:23","date_gmt":"2017-07-16T20:11:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=77994"},"modified":"2017-07-16T16:11:57","modified_gmt":"2017-07-16T20:11:57","slug":"its-official-in-california-glysophate-causes-cancer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=77994","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s Official in California: Glysophate Causes Cancer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content-head\" class=\"row-fluid content-head\">\n<h1 id=\"page-title\" class=\"title\">Glyphosate Listed Effective July 7, 2017, as Known to the State of California to Cause Cancer<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div id=\"content-body\" class=\"row-fluid content-body\">\n<div class=\"region region-content clearfix\">\n<div id=\"block-system-main\" class=\"clearfix block block-system\">\n<div class=\"content\">\n<div class=\"ds-1col node node-crnr-notices view-mode-full  clearfix\">\n<div class=\"published\"><time class=\"date\"><span class=\"date-display-single\">Jun 26, 2017<\/span><\/time><\/div>\n<p>On\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/oehha.ca.gov\/proposition-65\/crnr\/glyphosate-be-listed-under-proposition-65-known-state-cause-cancer\">March 28, 2017<\/a><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) posted a Notice on its website<sup><a id=\"_ftnref1\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/oehha.ca.gov\/proposition-65\/crnr\/glyphosate-listed-effective-july-7-2017-known-state-california-cause-cancer#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0that\u00a0<em>glyphosate (CAS No. 1071-83-6)<\/em>\u00a0would be added to the list of chemicals known to the state to cause cancer for purposes of Proposition 65<sup><a id=\"_ftnref2\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/oehha.ca.gov\/proposition-65\/crnr\/glyphosate-listed-effective-july-7-2017-known-state-california-cause-cancer#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0with a delayed effective date due to the pending case\u00a0<em>Monsanto v OEHHA<\/em>.<sup><a id=\"_ftnref3\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/oehha.ca.gov\/proposition-65\/crnr\/glyphosate-listed-effective-july-7-2017-known-state-california-cause-cancer#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Monsanto\u2019s challenge was unsuccessful in the trial court.\u00a0 Although the case has been appealed, no stay of the listing has been granted.
