Al Green grandstanded on the floor<\/a>\u00a0<strong><em>&#8220;I do not do this for political purposes,&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0a second Democrat has now formally introduced his own article of impeachment against Trump. Statement here: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0gKr8ZFg3c\">https:\/\/t.co\/0gKr8ZFg3c<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/yUTDAnPFuJ\">pic.twitter.com\/yUTDAnPFuJ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Congressman Brad Sherman (@BradSherman) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BradSherman\/status\/885192153777025033?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 12, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2017-06-07\/democratic-rep-al-green-drafting-articles-impeachment-will-probably-go-nowhere\">As a reminder,<\/a>\u00a0Green\u2019s criticisms in June focused on Trump\u2019s firing of former FBI Director James Comey, who was leading the administration\u2019s probe into Russia\u2019s meddling in the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\">\u00a0\u201c<strong>The facts are simple and indisputable.<\/strong>\u00a0The President fired the FBI Director\u00a0<strong>because the director was investigating the President\u2019s campaign connections to Russian interference in the Presidential Election<\/strong>,\u201d Green said Tuesday evening in a statement.<\/div>\n<p><strong>\u201cThis is obstruction of justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/user245717\/imageroot\/2017\/05\/18\/green.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/user245717\/imageroot\/2017\/05\/18\/green_0.JPG\" width=\"500\" height=\"344\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s actually not true.\u00a0<strong>The facts suggest that Trump did nothing wrong.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi agreed that nobody has provided a smoking gun to justify an impeachment on the grounds of obstruction.\u00a0 \u201cThe only thing that matters are the facts \u2013 the facts and the law.\u201d And right now, there\u2019s absolutely no evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians, or that Trump obstructed justice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Green has rejected that argument, contending that Trump\u2019s actions have already risen to a level demanding congressional intervention.<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\">\u00a0\u201cThis will remain obstruction of justice regardless of the findings of any investigation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/user3303\/imageroot\/2017\/07\/09\/20170712_impeach.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/user3303\/imageroot\/2017\/07\/09\/20170712_impeach.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"253\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And now,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/341677-house-dem-files-article-of-impeachment-against-trump?rnd=1499882038\">as The Hill reports<\/a>, Rep. Sherman argues that\u00a0<strong>Trump\u2019s abrupt firing of James Comey as FBI director in May amounts to obstructing justice<\/strong>\u00a0amid the probes of whether Trump&#8217;s campaign colluded with the Russian government to swing the election.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\">\u00a0It cites Comey\u2019s allegations that Trump pressured him to drop the FBI\u2019s investigation into ousted former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn, as well as Trump\u2019s shifting story on why he fired Comey.<\/div>\n<p>White House officials initially pointed to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein\u2019s memo criticizing Comey\u2019s handling of the FBI\u2019s investigation into Hillary Clinton\u2019s use of a private email server. But Trump later said in an NBC News interview that the Russia probe was on his mind when deciding to fire Comey.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cIn all of this, Donald John Trump has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as president and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States. Wherefore, Donald John Trump, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0the article of impeachment states.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sherman drew ire from fellow House Democrats last month when he began circulating a draft article of impeachment and suggested he might force a floor vote on it&#8230;\u00a0<strong>But so far he has only one supporter on his article of impeachment &#8211; can you guess who? (Spoiler Alert: Rep.
