{"id":76631,"date":"2017-07-01T08:26:47","date_gmt":"2017-07-01T12:26:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=76631"},"modified":"2017-07-01T08:26:47","modified_gmt":"2017-07-01T12:26:47","slug":"this-mikajoe-accusation-better-not-be-true-for-trumps-sake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=76631","title":{"rendered":"This Mika\/Joe accusation better not be true for Trump&#8217;s sake!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"article\">The Hill: Kushner Sought &#8216;Morning Joe&#8217; Apology to Trump to Avoid Negative Story<\/h1>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_76632\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/GetFile-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-76632\" class=\"size-full wp-image-76632\" src=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/GetFile-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/GetFile-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/GetFile-1-300x250.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-76632\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Photo by Olivier Douliery &#8211; Pool\/Getty Images)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>By Todd Beamon<br \/>\nNEWSMAX<\/p>\n<p>Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and senior adviser to President Donald Trump, told MSNBC co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski that an apology to the president could stop The National Enquirer from publishing a story about their relationship,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/340263-kushner-told-morning-joe-hosts-to-apologize-to-trump-or-tabloid-story\"><strong>The Hill reported<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Kushner and Scarborough texted each other about the story in mid-April before the tabloid published it earlier this month, according to the Hill.<\/p>\n<p>The report was originally disclosed by Gabriel Sherman in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nymag.com\/daily\/intelligencer\/2017\/06\/what-happened-between-trump-morning-joe-and-the-enquirer.html\"><strong>New York Magazine.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kushner said the Enquirer&#8217;s story could be stopped if Scarborough and his &#8220;Morning Joe&#8221; co-host, now engaged to be married, apologized to Trump for their negative coverage of his administration.<\/p>\n<p>Scarborough refused \u2014\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalenquirer.com\/photos\/joe-scarborough-mika-brzezinski-affair\/\"><strong>the Enquirer published the report<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on June 5: &#8220;Joe &amp; Mika: TV Couple&#8217;s Sleazy Cheating Scandal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to New York Magazine, the Enquirer said: &#8220;We have no knowledge of any discussions between the White House and Joe and Mika about our story, and absolutely no involvement in those discussions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Scarborough and Brzezinski first disclosed the incident Friday in their op-ed piece in The Washington Post, &#8220;Donald Trump Is Not Well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have known Mr. Trump for more than a decade and have some fond memories of our relationship together,&#8221; they said. &#8220;But that hasn&#8217;t stopped us from criticizing his abhorrent behavior or worrying about his fitness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>They added that President Trump&#8217;s &#8220;unhealthy obsession with &#8216;Morning Joe&#8217; does not serve the best interests of either his mental state or the country he runs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe it would be better for America and the rest of the world if he would keep his 60-inch-plus flat-screen TV tuned to &#8216;Fox and\u00a0Friends,'&#8221; they said.<\/p>\n<p>The pair also slammed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsmax.com\/Politics\/trump-rips-msnbc-joe-scarborough\/2017\/06\/29\/id\/798939\/\"><strong>Trump&#8217;s attacks on Brzezinski&#8217;s appearance<\/strong><\/a>and mental stability in a pair of Twitter posts on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The tweets brought widespread condemnation from both Republicans and Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Trump tweeted that he did not stop the Enquirer&#8217;s story.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Watched low rated <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Morning_Joe?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Morning_Joe<\/a> for first time in long time.
