<\/a><\/p>\nFormer Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her aides have still retained access to classified and top secret documents a year after the FBI concluded they were \u201cextremely careless\u201d in mishandling sensitive information, according to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).<\/strong><\/p>\n Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, revealed Clinton\u2019s current security status on Friday, and released the information to express his concern about the State Department\u2019s slow bureaucratic process.<\/p>\n \u201cThe State Department confirmed that it is continuing to review the mishandling of classified information that passed through Secretary Clinton\u2019s unauthorized email server as she and seven former aides retain access to sensitive information,\u201d Grassley\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n They added that Clinton\u2019s aides were able to keep security clearances because the State Department designated them as \u201cresearch assistants\u201d which allowed them to \u201ctake their State Department clearance with them after their official service at the department.\u201d<\/p>\n Clinton\u2019s justification? So that she could and her aides could help \u201cwrite her memoir,\u201d Fox News reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n Grassley had \u201crepeatedly\u201d asked the State Department whether or not Clinton had her security clearance revoked but \u201cthe Obama administration refused to respond,\u201d Grassley said<\/a> in a letter to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson last March.<\/p>\n That same month, Judicial Watch said it was \u201coutrageous\u201d Clinton and her aides could still have access after they left the State Department, especially given their past impropriety with classified information.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is so unimaginatively offensive that Hillary Clinton or her staff would have any access to classified or top secret information. It is a mindblower,\u201d Judicial Watch Director of Investigations and Research Chris Farrell said.<\/p>\n The FBI concluded last July that Clinton and her top aides were \u201cextremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information\u201d and that \u201cthere is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information.\u201d<\/p>\n
