In a quite shocking rebuttal to the utter hypocrisy of Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal that was just exposed\u00a0 – explaining how terrible Trump’s decision was, how great Comey was, after writing an op-ed in February slamming Comey…<\/p>\n

While stepping back from demanding Comey\u2019s resignation, as some Democrats have done, Blumenthal said Comey has a lot of explaining to do about his \u201ccryptic\u201d comments.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAs a former federal prosecutor and state attorney general, I believe there is serious reason for concern regarding Director Comey\u2019s cryptic comments<\/strong> and hope that more facts will be disclosed as quickly as possible,\u201d Blumenthal said in a statement. \u201cSuch actions are highly unusual and urgently require explanation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At a ceremony honoring veterans and senior citizens who sent presents to soldiers overseas, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut rose and spoke of an earlier time in his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,\u201d <\/strong>Mr. Blumenthal said to the group gathered in Norwalk in March 2008. \u201cAnd you exemplify it. Whatever we think about the war, whatever we call it \u2014 Afghanistan or Iraq \u2014 we owe our military men and women unconditional support.\u201d<\/p>\n

There was one problem: Mr. Blumenthal, a Democrat now running for the United States Senate, never served in Vietnam. He obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970 and took repeated steps that enabled him to avoid going to war, according to records<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cComey lost the confidence of almost everyone in Washington, Republican and Democrat alike,\u201d he added in another post shortly afterward. \u201cWhen things calm down, they will be thanking me!\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
