Alex Newman, an international journalist and educator, attempted to explain what is going on in the minds of these editors. In his view, they have sold out both their morals and their country for the sake of advancing a dark agenda.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, some of them may be loony ideologues \u2013 useful idiots as Lenin would have called them \u2013 who truly believe this drivel they publish,\u201d Newman told WND. \u201cBut I remain firmly convinced \u2013 and I think more and more evidence confirms this every day \u2013 that they are all reading from the same script and following the same subversive agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n
That agenda, according to Newman, is the globalist and internationalist agenda \u2013 the idea that nation-states should give way to regional governments and ultimately a global government. To advance this agenda, the establishment must undermine national cohesion and the concept of unique nations. One way it\u00a0does so is by importing huge numbers of unassimilable people from foreign cultures into America, which fundamentally alters what it means to be an American.<\/p>\n
A June 2012 Time magazine cover reflected this spirit, teasing a story about illegal immigrants with the headline, \u201cWe Are Americans * Just not legally.\u201d Similarly, a June 2001 Time cover proclaimed, \u201cWelcome to Amexica.\u201d<\/p>\n
In fact, Time was embracing America\u2019s demographic shift as far back as November 1993, when the cover of a special issue highlighted \u201cThe New Face of America: How immigrants are shaping the world\u2019s first multicultural society.\u201d The cover featured an image of a woman\u2019s face generated by a computer from a mix of several races.<\/p>\n
National Geographic magazine celebrated the changing demographics in Europe on its October 2016 cover, depicting a Muslim family with the headline, \u201cThe New Europeans: How waves of immigrants are reshaping a continent.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kupelian says this sort of attitude is what\u2019s been leading many parts of Europe toward national suicide.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe mentality underlying such astonishingly perverse magazine covers is much the same mentality we\u2019re seeing destroy Europe, where the progressive establishment elite\u2019s loathing of the white, Christian Europe of yesteryear is so all-consuming that they prefer Islamic invasion, which is precisely what they are now experiencing, with Christian churches disappearing as fast as Islamic mosques are going up,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Get David Kupelian\u2019s culture war blockbusters: \u201cThe Marketing of Evil,\u201d \u201cHow Evil Works\u201d and his latest, \u201cThe Snapping of the American Mind\u201d \u2013 signed and personalized \u2013 at the WND Superstore.<\/strong><\/a><\/i><\/p>\n Kupelian illustrated the vast difference between today\u2019s perverse news media and that of previous generations by contrasting the current crop of shock-and-awe magazine covers glorifying transgenderism and illegal immigration with \u201cThe Saturday Evening Post,\u201d which for years featured the paintings of artist Norman Rockwell depicting patriotic American themes, like Thanksgiving dinner and baseball.<\/p>\n Another tool the establishment uses to serve its agenda, according to Newman, is the undermining of the family unit, which has traditionally served as the \u201ctransmission belt\u201d for moral values, patriotism, national culture and religious beliefs. One way to undermine the family is to discourage people from having families in the first place, which was the idea put forth in an August 2013 Time cover headline that read, \u201cThe Childfree Life: When having it all means not having children.\u201d<\/p>\n Newman, who coauthored \u201cCrimes of the Educators,\u201d<\/a> sees a globalist agenda as the common denominator across all these magazine covers.<\/p>\n \u201cThe view of society reflected on magazine covers like these is the globalist view that the establishment wants people to hold \u2013 anti-family, anti-children, anti-truth, pro-gender confusion, pro-mass migration into Christian Western countries and so on,\u201d Newman said. \u201cIf these kooky and fringe ideologies are allowed to succeed, it literally means the death of our societies as we have known them, the death of human diversity, the death of the family, the death of freedom, and the death of morality.\u201d<\/p>\n Kupelian, for his part, says we are living in a \u201ctransformative era\u201d in which what used to be the secular liberal-left welfare state is mutating into something darker.<\/p>\n \u201cThe elite of Western governments, academia and the press are crossing the line of reason into madness,\u201d he said. \u201cMulticulturalism is becoming national suicide. Liberalism is becoming radical intolerance. Crusading for social justice is becoming raw rage and criminality.<\/p>\n \u201cThink about it: What kind of journalist can possibly glorify and encourage the channeling of innocent children into a lifetime of misery and attempting the impossible \u2013 of becoming the opposite gender? We\u2019re talking about an extremely disordered and delusional group of people who routinely amputate healthy body parts and have a 41 percent attempted suicide rate. And even though major medical research proves the vast majority of children will outgrow their transient identification with the opposite sex if we would just leave them alone, our media elite are encouraging children and their parents to go down this exceedingly sad and utterly misguided path.\u201d<\/p>\n While the left-wing media\u2019s championing of transgenderism is perplexing to Kupelian, their desire to flood America with Third World immigrants who will never assimilate is much easier to understand.<\/p>\n \u201cStatistically, the vast majority of new immigrants, both legal and illegal, will lean Democrat, thus fulfilling the progressive left\u2019s oft-stated Holy Grail \u2013 the achievement of a permanent progressive voting majority in America, so our nation will never again have a Republican president or congressional majority,\u201d Kupelian stated.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd in pursuit of that dream, to fulfill their lust for power, the progressive left, and that includes most of the establishment media, have demonstrated that they are willing to sacrifice everything that is truly noble and valuable in America \u2013 a moral, Judeo-Christian culture, a reverence for life, a strong free-market economy, safe borders. It all gets sacrificed on the altar of progressive utopianism. And they justify this self-hatred and cultural suicide by mindlessly demonizing everybody opposing their suicidal agenda, portraying them as mean, hateful, xenophobic, Islamophobic, homophobic and transphobic.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
