Lies Exposed: DOJ Admits \u201cMissing\u201d IRS Emails DO Exist<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In a stunning turn of events,\u00a0Department of Justice\u00a0attorneys for the IRS admitted thatLois Lerner\u2019s emails<\/a>\u00a0DO exist\u00a0on a backup server<\/a>, but said they would be hard to find.<\/p>\n

Judicial Watch<\/a>\u00a0President Tom Fitton broke the news Monday:<\/p>\n

Department of Justice\u00a0attorneys for the\u00a0Internal Revenue Service\u00a0told Judicial Watch on Friday that Lois Lerner\u2019s emails,\u00a0indeed\u00a0all governmentcomputer\u00a0records, are backed up by the federal government in case of a government-wide catastrophe.\u00a0 The Obama administration attorneys said that this back-up system would be too onerous to search.\u00a0 The DOJ attorneys also acknowledged that the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) is investigating this back-up system.<\/p>\n

We obviously disagree that disclosing the emails as required would be onerous, and plan to raise this new development with Judge Sullivan.<\/p>\n

This is a jaw-dropping revelation.\u00a0 The Obama administration had been lying to\u00a0the American people\u00a0about Lois Lerner\u2019s missing emails. There are no \u201cmissing\u201d Lois Lerner emails \u2013 nor missing emails of any of the other top IRS or other government officials whose emails seem to be disappearing at increasingly alarming rate. All the focus on missing hard drives has been a diversion. The Obama administration has known all along where the email records could be \u2013 but dishonestly withheld this information. You can bet we are going to ask the court for immediate assistance in cutting through this massive obstruction of justice.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Remember, back in June,\u00a0IRS officials told Congress that the emails were lost<\/a>\u00a0and that the agency had gone to \u201cgreat lengths\u201d to try to retrieve them.<\/p>\n

Conveniently, the\u00a0emails lost<\/a>\u00a0were\u00a0mainly ones to and from people outside the IRS, such as\u00a0the White House, Treasury,\u00a0Department of Justice, FEC, or Democrat offices.<\/p>\n

The shocking information was provided to Judicial Watch by order of\u00a0U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan<\/a>, who, back in July,\u00a0ordered the IRS<\/a>\u00a0to provide\u00a0a declaration explaining exactly how the agency managed to \u201close\u201d two years\u2019 worth of emails belonging to Lois Lerner.<\/p>\n

Fitton spoke to Fox News about the revelation:<\/p>\n
