White House mulling replacements for Reince Priebus, preparing for Steve Bannon exit: report<\/h1>\n

The Trump administration has been mulling who could potentially replace Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, including House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), according to a report.<\/p>\n

Eleven weeks into his term, President Trump is considering replacements for Priebus \u2014 the former Republican National Committee chairman \u2014 as well as preparing for chief strategist Steve Bannon\u2019s departure<\/a>, according to Axios.<\/p>\n

Along with McCarthy \u2014 a Trump ally \u2014 the White House is considering businessman Wayne Berman, political consultant David Urban and Trump\u2019s economic adviser, Gary Cohn, Axios reported, cited aides and advisers.<\/p>\n

A key Trump aide told the news website that while the President was considering a White House shakeup, nothing was set in stone.<\/p>\n

“Things are happening, but it’s very unclear the president’s willing to pull that trigger,\u201d the aide said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

News of the potential replacement comes as reports of infighting within the White House emerge.<\/p>\n

Bannon and Trump advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner have reportedly traded barbs over policy matters.<\/p>\n

The White House strategist was booted from the President\u2019s National Security Council this week, and allegedly considered leaving his strategist post<\/a> as a result.<\/p>\n
