As a reminder, a New York Times report Sunday said\u00a0 Comey asked the Justice Department to publicly reject the president\u2019s claims. Senior U.S. officials told the Times that Comey has said the president\u2019s wiretapping allegations are false and asked the Justice Department on Saturday to publicly correct the record. Eight of those chains contained information that was Top Secret at the time they were sent; 36 chains contained Secret information at the time; and eight contained Confidential information, which is the lowest level of classification. Separate from those, about 2,000 additional e-mails were \u201cup-classified\u201d to make them Confidential; the information in those had not been classified at the time the e-mails were sent, \u201d James Comey.<\/p>\n
