{"id":69233,"date":"2017-03-20T18:15:47","date_gmt":"2017-03-20T22:15:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=69233"},"modified":"2017-03-20T18:15:47","modified_gmt":"2017-03-20T22:15:47","slug":"white-house-no-evidence-of-trump-russia-collusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=69233","title":{"rendered":"White House: &#8216;No evidence&#8217; of Trump-Russia collusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/launch.newsinc.com\/?type=VideoPlayer\/Single&amp;widgetId=1&amp;trackingGroup=69016&amp;playlistId=19132&amp;siteSection=thehill2300_nws_pol_sec&amp;videoId=32146796\" width=\"590\" height=\"332\" frameborder=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\">\n<p>BY JORDAN FABIAN<br \/>\nThe Hill<\/p>\n<p>The White House on Monday asserted there is \u201cno evidence\u201d that President Trump\u2019s associates colluded with Russia to interfere in the 2016 election after FBI Director James Comey confirmed a bureau investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing has changed,\u201d a White House official wrote in an email. \u201cSenior Obama intelligence officials have gone on record to confirm there is NO EVIDENCE of Trump-Russia collusion and there is NO EVIDENCE of a Trump-Russia scandal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Comey&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/national-security\/324754-comey-fbi-investigating-possible-collusion-between-trump-team-moscow\" target=\"_blank\">explosive revelation<\/a> earlier Monday morning ended months of speculation about whether the federal government is probing Trump\u2019s campaign and challenged the president\u2019s repeated efforts to downplay his team\u2019s alleged involvement with Moscow.<\/p>\n<p>But the White House is pointing to statements made by former acting CIA chief Michael Morrell and James Clapper, former President Obama\u2019s top intelligence official, that they have seen no evidence of collusion between Trump associates and Russians.Ahead of the House intelligence panel hearing where Comey confirmed the probe, Trump tweeted the Russia story is \u201cis FAKE NEWS and everyone knows it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Democrats made up and pushed the Russian story as an excuse for running a terrible campaign.
