Instead, Yiannopoulos is seen as the figurehead of the alt-Right movement, a movement that prides itself in nationalism, which many accuse of racism and anti-Semitism.<\/p>\n<p>Jonah Goldberg, a senior editor for the conservative magazine National Review who is seen as one of the conservative leaders in post-modern politics, said the move to include Yiannopoulos as the keynote speaker is \u201csad and disappointing.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sad and disappointing, Matt.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Jonah Goldberg (@JonahDispatch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JonahDispatch\/status\/833085212779241472?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 18, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Still, ACU chairman Matt Schlapp defended the decision <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/milo-yiannopoulos-tapped-as-keynote-speaker-at-conservative-political-action-conference-977591\" target=\"_blank\">in comments to the Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, which broke the story about Yiannopoulos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn epidemic of speech suppression has taken over college campuses,\u201d Schlapp told the news outlet. \u201cMilo has exposed their liberal thuggery and we think free speech includes hearing Milo\u2019s important perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then on Sunday morning, less than one day after the controversial announcement about the CPAC speaker lineup, video surfaced of Yiannopoulos allegedly defending pedophilia in the past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe get hung up on this sort of child abuse stuff,\u201d Yiannopoulos is heard saying in a video, acknowledging that he has a controversial point of view, \u201cto the point where we are heavily policing consensual adults.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the homosexual world, particularly, some of those relationships between younger boys and older men \u2014 the sort of \u2018coming of age\u2019 relationship \u2014 those relationships in which those older men help those young boys discover who they are and give them security and safety and provide them with love and a reliable, sort of rock, where they can\u2019t speak to their parents,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt sounds like molestation to me,\u201d an unnamed person tells Yiannopoulos in reply, likely an interviewer. \u201cIt sounds like Catholic priest molestation to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut you know what? I\u2019m grateful for Father Michael. I wouldn\u2019t give nearly such good head if it wasn\u2019t for him,\u201d Yiannopoulos replied, using a euphemism for male oral sex.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8 Breaking: We obtained the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/CPAC2017?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#CPAC2017<\/a> Milo Yiannopoulos introductory video. <\/p>\n<p>This is a must watch! <\/p>\n<p>Well done <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mschlapp?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@mschlapp<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/2nA0H9woUX\">pic.twitter.com\/2nA0H9woUX<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Reagan Battalion (@ReaganBattalion) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ReaganBattalion\/status\/833347036644777985?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 19, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<div class=\"SandboxRoot env-bp-350\" data-twitter-event-id=\"2\"><\/div>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t end there.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with comedian Joe Rogan in 2015, Yiannopoulos discussed his sexual relationship with \u201cFather Michael,\u201d which he allegedly had as a teenager at age 14.<\/p>\n<p>During the interview, he even tried to normalize pedophilia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo you\u2019re saying you\u2019ve never seen a 15-year-old girl, at any point in your life, that you thought was hot?\u201d Yiannopoulos asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, when I was 15!\u201d Rogan replied. \u201cI\u2019m not retarded dude.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, when you were 25 or 30, you\u2019ve never seen girls you thought were hot?\u201d Yiannopoulos asked again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, I thought they were little kids!\u201d Rogan said.<\/p>\n<p>Later, Rogan called \u201cFather Michael\u201d a \u201cterrible person\u201d for allegedly having a sexual relationship with Yiannopoulos when he was a young teenager, but Yiannopoulos tried to downplay it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt wasn\u2019t molestation,\u201d he alleged<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s absolutely molestation,\u201d Rogan shot back.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the interview, Yiannopoulos talked about a Hollywood party he went to years ago that had \u201cvery young boys\u201d in attendance for sex.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oJhHwspZGcg\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Yiannopoulos <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/myiannopoulos\/posts\/851072498363980\" target=\"_blank\">has since responded to the allegations on Facebook<\/a> Sunday afternoon denying them completely.<\/p>\n<p>Yiannopoulos wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>There\u2019s a video going around that purports to show me saying anti-semitic things (nope) and advocating for pedophilia (big nope). The shocking thing? It\u2019s Republicans doing it. Sad to see establishment types collapse into the same tactics as social justice warriors: name calling, deceptively edited videos, confected moral outrage and public shaming. This is why they deserve to burn \u2014 and why they are burning. Here\u2019s how I actually feel about pedophilia, which you\u2019d know if you\u2019d actually watched or read anything I\u2019ve ever done. Or, you know, if you had two brain cells to rub together.
