<\/a><\/p>\nFormer members of America\u2019s intelligence came forward and spoke to the Daily Caller about the recent resignation of Michael Flynn, saying the whole matter had all the showings a \u201chit job\u201d from the left.<\/p>\n
In fact, said retired Col. James Williamson, who served 32 years in the Special Forces, during which he worked tightly with the intelligence community, Flynn\u2019s resignation was just the next step in a long-running campaign.<\/p>\n \u201cThis was a hit job,\u201d Williamson said, to the Daily Caller<\/a>. \u201c[The resignation was] stage two of \u2018Kill Mike Flynn.’\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Flynn first came under fire from Barack Obama in 2014, when he was fired from his director spot at the Defense Intelligence Agency.<\/p>\n His resurrection in President Donald Trump\u2019s administration didn\u2019t go over well with those in the intelligence agencies who hailed back from Obama\u2019s time.<\/p>\n The Daily Caller<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n \u201cNational Security Advisor Gen. Michael T. Flynn (ret.) \u2014 who resigned Monday \u2014 was the victim of a \u201chit job\u201d launched by intelligence operatives, Obama government holdovers and former Obama national security officials, according to former intelligence officials who spoke with The Daily Caller News Foundation\u2019s Investigative Group.<\/p>\n \u201cThe talk within the tight-knit community of retired intelligence officers was that Flynn\u2019s sacking was a result of intelligence insiders at the CIA, NSA and National Security Council using a sophisticated \u2018disinformation campaign\u2019 to create a crisis atmosphere. The former intel officers say the tactics hurled against Flynn over the last few months were the type of high profile hard-ball accusations previously reserved for top figures in enemy states, not for White House officials. \u2026<\/p>\n \u201cFormer intelligence officials who understand spy craft say Flynn\u2019s resignation had everything to do with a \u2018disinformation campaign\u2019 and little to do with the December phone conversation he had with the Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.<\/p>\n \u201cThey charge officials from America\u2019s top spy counsels leaked classified government intercepts of Flynn and President Trump\u2019s conversations with world leaders and had \u2018cutouts\u2019 \u2014 friendly civilians not associated with the agency \u2014 to distribute them to reporters in a coordinated fashion.<\/p>\n \u201cThe issue of leaks was a prime topic for Trump when he tweeted Wednesday, \u2018Information is being illegally given to the failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost by the intelligence community (NSA and FBI?).Just like Russia.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018I\u2019ve never seen anything like this before,\u2019 Retired Col. James Waurishuk, who spent three decades in top military intelligence posts and served at the National Security Council, said in an interview with TheDCNF. \u2018We\u2019ve never seen to the extent that those in the intelligence community are using intelligence apparatus and tools to be used politically against an administration official,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018The knives are out,\u2019 said Frederick Rustman, who retired after 24 years from the CIA\u2019s Clandestine Service and was a member of its elite Senior Intelligence Service.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n And what\u2019s more, the entire Trump administration is at stake.<\/p>\n
