{"id":66222,"date":"2017-02-16T11:08:01","date_gmt":"2017-02-16T15:08:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=66222"},"modified":"2017-02-16T11:08:30","modified_gmt":"2017-02-16T15:08:30","slug":"washpo-media-critic-says-newspaper-makes-money-from-propaganda-ads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=66222","title":{"rendered":"WashPo &#8216;Media Critic&#8217; Says Newspaper Makes Money From Propaganda Ads"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>TUCKER DISMANTLES WAPO \u2018MEDIA CRITIC\u2019 OVER REPORTING BIAS, RUSSIA HYPOCRISY<\/h1>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-subtitle\">WaPo makes money off Russian propaganda ads on site!<\/h3>\n<p>Dan Lyman | Infowars.com<\/p>\n<p><strong>The latest victim of Tucker Carlson\u2019s scorched earth takedowns is Erik Wemple, a \u2018media critic\u2019 at the <em>Washington Post<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tLj_SCPMtoM?feature=oembed\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Wemple appeared on Carlson\u2019s popular Fox News show to discuss the unrelenting barrage of disinformation and blatant lies from the mainstream media designed to delegitimize Donald Trump and his fledgling administration \u2013 and tie them to the Russian government.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson wasted no time exposing the raging hypocrisy of Wemple and the <em>Post<\/em>, pointing out that they regularly carry \u201cnative advertising\u201d sponsored by the Russian regime, while simultaneously <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2016-11-25\/washington-post-names-drudge-zero-hedge-anti-clinton-sophisticated-russian-propagand\">accusing<\/a> Trump and a wide swath of independent American media outlets \u2013 such as <em>Infowars<\/em> and <em>The Drudge Report \u2013<\/em> of operating on behalf of the Russians.<\/p>\n<p>Native advertising is <a href=\"http:\/\/nativeadvertisinginstitute.com\/blog\/the-definition-of-native-advertising\/\">defined<\/a> as, <em>\u201cpaid advertising\u00a0where the ad matches the form, feel and function of the content of the media on which it appears.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe <em>Washington Post<\/em>, for many years, has literally carried paid propaganda from the Russian government \u2013 a section called \u2018Russia Behind the Headlines,&#8217;\u201d noted Carlson. \u201cIt looks like news, it\u2019s designed to fool readers into thinking it\u2019s real \u2013 and it\u2019s pure propaganda paid for, distributed by, the Russian government\u2026 Why have you never written about that? How can you attack others when you don\u2019t note that your own paper makes money from taking propaganda from the Russian government?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He went on to point out that Wemple, a supposed \u2018watchdog\u2019 for media bias and hypocrisy, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/erik-wemple\/wp\/2013\/11\/20\/politicos-mike-allen-native-advertising-pioneer\/?utm_term=.d8a7b60106c5\">has attacked<\/a> other publications, such as <em>Politico<\/em>, for utilizing native advertising, while turning a blind eye to the same practice being employed by the <em>Post<\/em> as a tactic to subtly fool readers.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson also provided examples of the <em>Post<\/em> putting forth blatantly fabricated or dishonest stories regarding <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-government\/2017\/02\/08\/fake-news-dhs-secretary-calls-wapo-john-kelly-steve-bannon-feud-a-fantasy-story\/\">supposed incidents<\/a> within Trump administration and <a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2016\/12\/30\/washington-post-publishes-false-news-story-about-russians-hacking-electrical-grid\/\">Russia \u201chacking\u201d<\/a> the U.S. electrical grid.<\/p>\n<p>Wemple began to unravel, becoming combative and ridiculing Carlson\u2019s \u201chigh-pitched laugh,\u201d before asserting, \u201cThere are few, if any, news organizations that allow their in-house media reporter to do as much coverage of their own shop,\u201d as his bosses permit him to do.<\/p>\n<p>Perplexed at the murky double-speak, Carlson queried, \u201cThen do you just decline to do it? They allow you to, but you just refuse to out of cowardice?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carlson mocked Wemple\u2019s \u201cbrown-nosey\u201d praise of his own paper, asking, \u201cDo you feel guilt? Do you feel like, \u2018I\u2019m doing my job as a hard-hitting media reporter?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ve covered Fox News, in the last 10 months, 23 times more than MSNBC,\u201d revealed Carlson. \u201cLook, you\u2019ve got a political agenda. You\u2019re a lefty. You\u2019re angry about politics. I get it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t see you as a media critic.
