At the same time Patriots Head Coach and star QB Tom Brady were\u00a0laughing in the background.\u00a0 Although they may not have been laughing about Goodell being booed it was still ironic.<\/p>\n<p>Brady was also seen leaving the stage during Goodell\u2019s presentation to Bob Kraft the owner of the Patriots. The pro-Patriots crowd that remained in the stadium for the ceremony however stopped booing and cheered when Kraft received the winner\u2019s trophy.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_hljJxDKrvA\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is the first time Brady and Goodell were together since the \u2018deflategate\u2019 scandal, the name given to the incident and actions taken by Goodell which penalized the Patriots and Brady for \u2018supposedly\u2019 using game balls during an NFL playoff game that were deflated.\u00a0 The suggestion was that the Patriots and Brady were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/sport\/blog\/2017\/jan\/23\/new-england-patriots-super-bowl-li-deflategate-nfl\">given an unfair advantage <\/a>in the game which the Patriots won by a very large margin.\u00a0 Brady eventually took the penalty to court but his case was thrown out after which Goodell penalized Brady and the Patriots. It was reported that \u2013<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Goodell dropped a sledgehammer on the Patriots when he suspended Brady for four games, fined the team one million dollars and took away their first-round draft pick in 2016 and fourth round selection this spring. His sanctions were the football equivalent of killing a fly with a hand grenade, and they were going to cripple the Pats. And yet all they did was make New England better.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com\/2017\/01\/28\/tom-brady-sr-roger-goodell-constantly-lied-its-beyond-reprehensible\/\">Brady\u2019s father <\/a>was very vocal before the Super Bowl\u00a0game about Goodell \u2013<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>What the league did to him [Tom Brady] and what <a href=\"http:\/\/kron4.com\/2017\/01\/27\/video-father-of-new-england-patriots-quarterback-tom-brady-rips-nfl-commissioner-roger-goodell-over-deflategate-investigation\/\"><u>Roger Goodell constantly lied<\/u><\/a> about is beyond reprehensible as far as I\u2019m concerned,\u201d Brady Sr. said of his son. <strong>\u201c[Goodell] went on a witch hunt and went in way over his head and had to lie his way out in numerous ways and the reality is that Tommy never got suspended for deflating footballs. He got suspended because the court said that he could,<\/strong> Roger Goodell could do anything that he wanted to do to any player for any reason whatsoever. That\u2019s what happened. The NFL admitted they had no evidence on him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for the possibility of Goodell standing next to Brady after the Patriots won the Super Bowl, Brady Sr. doesn\u2019t relish that, saying, \u201cSomebody that has Roger Goodell\u2019s ethics doesn\u2019t belong on any stage that Tom Brady is on.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Brady noticeably left the stage when Goodell was awarding the trophy to Kraft.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fans also possibly booed Goodell for his lack of effort this year to penalize NFL players for not standing during the National Anthem.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Colin Kaepernick\u00a0of the San Francisco 49ers started this action and repeated it throughout the season while other players mimicked him around the nation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6u5fvfbyoS4\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Goodell did not step in and fine or suspend Kaepernick for these actions which to many were more serious than the actions that Goodell suspended Brady for.
