{"id":64984,"date":"2017-01-31T14:32:18","date_gmt":"2017-01-31T18:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=64984"},"modified":"2017-01-31T14:32:18","modified_gmt":"2017-01-31T18:32:18","slug":"judicial-crisis-network-launches-10-million-campaign-to-preserve-justice-scalias-legacy-support-president-elect-trump-nominee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=64984","title":{"rendered":"Judicial Crisis Network Launches $10 Million Campaign to Preserve Justice Scalia\u2019s Legacy, Support President-Elect Trump Nominee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->By Judicial Crisis Network<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Multi-Million Dollar Campaign Targets Vulnerable Democrat Senators<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For Immediate Release: Monday, Jan. 9<br \/>\nContact: Peter Robbio<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:PRobbio@crcpublicrelations.com\">PRobbio@crcpublicrelations.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Katie Hughes<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:KHughes@crcpublicrelations.com\">KHughes@crcpublicrelations.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>ALEXANDRIA, Va. \u2013\u00a0The Judicial Crisis Network (JCN) today announced plans for\u00a0a national campaign to confirm President Trump\u2019s\u00a0nominee to the Supreme Court. \u00a0Coming off of its historic \u201cLet the People Decide\u201d\u00a0victory in the Garland nomination battle, JCN will engage a comprehensive\u00a0campaign of paid advertising, earned media, research,\u00a0grassroots activity, and a coalition enterprise, all adding up to the most robust operation\u00a0in the history of confirmation battles. \u00a0JCN and its allies\u00a0will focus on\u00a0states where Senate Democrats are vulnerable in 2018, particularly those where Trump won by large margins. \u00a0JCN spent\u00a0more than $7 million\u00a0in its Let the People Decide effort, and it expects to spend at least $10 million to confirm the next justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are preparing to launch the most robust campaign for a Supreme Court nominee in history and we will force vulnerable\u00a0Senators up for re-election in 2018 like Joe Donnelly and\u00a0Claire McCaskill\u00a0to decide between keeping\u00a0their Senate seats or following Chuck Schumer\u2019s liberal, obstructionist agenda,\u201d said Carrie Severino, Chief Counsel and Policy Director of the Judicial Crisis Network.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny vulnerable\u00a0Senator who\u00a0signs up for Schumer\u2019s obstructionist strategy\u00a0will pay a heavy price in 2018. \u00a0Exit polls showed that over\u00a0one fifth\u00a0of voters said the Supreme Court was a\u00a0primary reason for their vote and of that large percentage of Americans, Trump won those voters by a resounding 57-40 margin. \u00a0And he won some of those states by overwhelming margins. \u00a0The President-elect clearly has a mandate when it comes to the Supreme Court and this effort will ensure that the will of the people prevails,\u201d Severino continued.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0team\u00a0leading\u00a0the campaign\u00a0combines high-level GOP and conservative campaign professionals as well as some of the nation\u2019s top conservative grassroots organizations. They include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CRC Public Relations \u2014 President Greg Mueller will spearhead communications and media strategy.<\/li>\n<li>Chris Jankowski \u2014\u00a0GOP political operative, former Executive Director of the REDMAP project, and widely credited for historic GOP gains in down ballot state races.<\/li>\n<li>Gary Marx \u2014\u00a0President, Madison Strategies, Senior Advisor to JCN will focused on building coalition support in the Center Right and key states. Marx is a GOP\/conservative\u00a0grassroots organizer and veteran of numerous political and presidential campaigns.<\/li>\n<li>DDC\/Sara Fagen\/Joshua Baca \u2013 Fagen is a former WH advisor who worked on the nominations of both Justices Roberts and Alito under President Bush.\u00a0 She and Joshua Baca will lead DDC\u2019s grassroots\/grasstops operations in the target states. \u00a0Joshua Baca, SVP DDC, is\u00a0former Romney Coalitions Director and Hill staffer.
