Ben Smith<\/strong>, editor of \u201cfailing pile of garbage\u201d Buzzfeed,<\/a> appeared on Fox News tonight to talk to Tucker Carlson<\/strong>\u00a0about his site\u2019s decision to publish\u00a0that<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>dossier. He\u2019s explained<\/a> the decision multiple times, been raked over the coals on all manner<\/a> of networks<\/a>, and even had his choice questioned by Carlson before, but Smith was back for what felt like Round 282 tonight.<\/p>\n He pointed out that his decision to publish a dossier that was being spoken about among\u00a0high-ranking government officials and alluded to by some was really no different than what Matt Drudge<\/strong> did by breaking the\u00a0Monica Lewinsky\u00a0<\/strong>story.<\/p>\n \u201cI think you make some smart points,\u201d conceded Carlson. \u201cI\u2019m for openness. I\u2019m for transparency.\u00a0But by setting yourself up as a champion of press freedom, you\u2019re being slightly disingenuous\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n He explained that Smith and Buzzfeed might be \u201chiding behind\u201d journalistic standards when, in fact, they were being partisan and anti-Donald Trump<\/strong>. Carlson himself has faced similar allegations<\/a>.<\/p>\n
