Scott Kotesky had no idea how eventful his flight from Baltimore to Seattle was going to be \u2013 and how much extra leg room he would have.<\/p>\n
Armed only with a cell phone, he smiled at his fellow passengers \u2013 a husband and wife \u2013 as he took his window seat next to the unidentified woman.<\/p>\n
She had one question for him: \u201cDid you come here to cheer or to protest?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI came here to celebrate democracy ma\u2019am,\u201d Kotesky recalls saying.<\/p>\n

Much of the dialogue is caught on video, but here\u2019s the way Kotesky recalls the chain of events.<\/p>\n
Her: \u201cYou put a crazed man in charge of the nuclear codes! You should be ashamed!\u201d<\/p>\n
Kotesky: \u201cWell we\u2019re all entitled to our opinions here ma\u2019am.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her: \u201cAnd I\u2019m entitled to get drunk and puke in your lap! I\u2019m going to throw up right in your lap! You make me sick! Don\u2019t talk to me! Don\u2019t look at me! Don\u2019t you dare even put your arm on that rest. You disgust me! You should be ashamed of yourself! You put a maniac\u2019s finger on the button. You are a bigot. You should get off this plane!\u201d<\/p>\n
Kotesky: \u201cMa\u2019am, by definition, bigotry is disparaging someone prior to knowing them simply by their beliefs and opinions. Thank you for being the very thing you preach against.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kotesky says he told a flight attendant the woman insulted him.<\/p>\n
\u201cIs there going to be a problem?\u201d the flight attendant asked the woman.<\/p>\n
The woman told the flight attendant: \u201cI told you I would like him to change seats with somebody \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
The flight attendant cut her off: \u201cWell, you don\u2019t have that right.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman continued to berate Kotesky.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou pretend you have the moral high ground but you put that man\u2019s finger on the nuclear button. That man doesn\u2019t believe in climate change,\u201d she said, using air quotes for dramatic effect.<\/p>\n
As a gate attendant attempted to intervene, she continued the verbal barrage.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you believe in climate change?\u201d she asked. \u201cDo you believe in gravity? Because did you know gravity is just a theory?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWill you grab your belongings and come with me?\u201d the attendant asked her.<\/p>\n
Refusing to leave the plane, she said, \u201cI paid for this seat and I\u2019m sitting here. He\u2019s in my space.\u201d<\/p>\n
As the attendant patiently and repeatedly asked the woman to exit the plane, she said, \u201cI\u2019m going home now. We had to be here. My mother-in-law died.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman and her husband, who was\u00a0sitting next to her, attempted to negotiate with the attendant, trying to remain on the plane.<\/p>\n
\u201cFine, I\u2019ll be quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not going to allow that,\u201d he responded, before informing the woman the captain wanted her off the plane.<\/p>\n
Another video, taken from across the aisle, showed the woman sneering at the Trump supporter, then at passengers behind her before police escorted\u00a0her off the plane.<\/p>\n
Passengers cheered as she carried her belongings and exited the aircraft. Someone briefly chanted \u201cUSA, USA.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I get a whole row to myself?\u201d Kotesky asked.<\/p>\n
A woman nearby suggested to Kotesky drinks were on him.<\/p>\n
