{"id":62674,"date":"2017-01-09T10:29:26","date_gmt":"2017-01-09T14:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=62674"},"modified":"2017-01-09T10:30:38","modified_gmt":"2017-01-09T14:30:38","slug":"shocking-only-the-fbi-can-get-away-with-such-criminal-negligence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=62674","title":{"rendered":"SHOCKING: Only the FBI can get away with such criminal negligence!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>DNC Refused to Give FBI Access to Its Servers \u2026 Instead Gave Access to a DNC Consultant Tied to Organization Promoting Conflict with Russia<\/h1>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"meta-sep\">by<\/span> <span class=\"author vcard\"><a class=\"url fn n\" title=\"View all posts by WashingtonsBlog\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/author\/washingtonsblog\">WashingtonsBlog<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>CNN <a title=\"reports\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/01\/05\/politics\/fbi-russia-hacking-dnc-crowdstrike\/\" target=\"_blank\">reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Democratic National Committee \u201crebuffed\u201d a request from the FBI to examine its computer services after it was allegedly hacked by Russia during the 2016 election, a senior law enforcement official told CNN Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI repeatedly stressed to DNC officials the necessity of obtaining direct access to servers and data, only to be rebuffed until well after the initial compromise had been mitigated,\u201d a senior law enforcement official told CNN. \u201cThis left the FBI no choice but to rely upon a third party for information.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>The FBI instead relied on the assessment from a third-party security company called CrowdStrike.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As <a title=\"first reported\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2017\/01\/crowdstrikes-russian-hacking-story-fell-apart-say-hello-fancy-bear-2.html\">first reported<\/a> by George Eliason, CrowdStrike\u2019s Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder Dimitri Alperovitch \u2013 who <a title=\"wrote\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dmitri_Alperovitch\" target=\"_blank\">wrote<\/a> the CrowdStrike reports allegedly linking Russia to the Democratic party emails published by Wikileaks \u2013 is a fellow at the Atlantic Council \u2026 an organization associated with Ukraine, and whose <em>main<\/em> policy goal seems to stir up a confrontation with Russia. <sup>[1]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The Nation <a title=\"writes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thenation.com\/article\/is-skepticism-treason\/\" target=\"_blank\">writes<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span id=\"socialHighlighted\"><span id=\"tweetButton\" class=\"socialButtonHighlight clickheresocial\"><\/span> <span id=\"emailButton\" class=\"socialButtonHighlight clickheresocial\"><\/span><\/span>In late December, Crowdstrike released a <a title=\"largely debunked\" href=\"http:\/\/www.voanews.com\/a\/skeptics-doubt-ukraine-hack-link-to-dnc-cyberattack\/3649234.html\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.voanews.com\/a\/skeptics-doubt-ukraine-hack-link-to-dnc-cyberattack\/3649234.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1483542962684000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEKmTIISrLZ1hbBIJ6KuwyyQoNCtg\">largely debunked<\/a> report claiming that the same Russian malware that was used to hack the DNC has been used by Russian intelligence to target Ukrainian artillery positions. Crowdstrike\u2019s co-founder and chief technology officer, <a title=\"Dmitri Alperovitch\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/DAlperovitch\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/twitter.com\/DAlperovitch&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1483542962684000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHpEvY13xlrjFONPYryf73-aFV3KA\">Dmitri Alperovitch<\/a>, told PBS, \u201cUkraine\u2019s artillery men were targeted by the same hackers\u2026that targeted DNC, but this time they were targeting cellphones [belonging to the Ukrainian artillery men] to try to understand their location so that the Russian artillery forces can actually target them in the open battle.\u201d<br \/>\n<span id=\"more-64769\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Dmitri Alperovitch\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/DAlperovitch\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/twitter.com\/DAlperovitch&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1483542962684000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHpEvY13xlrjFONPYryf73-aFV3KA\">Dmitri Alperovitch<\/a> is also a <strong>senior fellow<\/strong> at the Atlantic Council.<\/p>\n<p>The connection between Alperovitch and the Atlantic Council has gone largely unremarked upon, but it is relevant given that the Atlantic Council\u2014which <a title=\"is funded in part\" href=\"http:\/\/www.atlanticcouncil.org\/support\/supporters\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.atlanticcouncil.org\/support\/supporters&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1483542962684000&amp;usg=AFQjCNG8hCWBzfc22112gpFuNxwGuDGfww\">is <strong>funded in part<\/strong><\/a><strong> by the US State Department, NATO<\/strong>, the governments of Latvia and Lithuania, <strong>the Ukrainian World Congress, and the Ukrainian oligarch Victor Pinchuk<\/strong>\u2014has been among the loudest voices calling for a new Cold War with Russia.
