{"id":59196,"date":"2016-12-06T09:46:07","date_gmt":"2016-12-06T13:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=59196"},"modified":"2016-12-06T09:46:38","modified_gmt":"2016-12-06T13:46:38","slug":"berniacs-threaten-to-sue-to-cover-up-campaign-crimes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=59196","title":{"rendered":"Berniacs Threaten To Sue To Cover Up Campaign Crimes"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"title\">Bernie Camp Threatens To Sue Project Veritas After Video Revealed &#8220;Egregious Violation Of Campaign Finance Law&#8221;<\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->ZeroHedge.com<\/p>\n<p>The former deputy campaign manager for Bernie Sanders, Richard Pelletier, has sent a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.projectveritasaction.com\/docs\/11302016\/pelletier.pdf\">letter <\/a>to Project Veritas threatening a lawsuit over his recording of a phone call, which Pelletier claims violated Nevada wiretapping laws.\u00a0 The phone call was related to the following undercover video published by Project Veritas back in February, potentially revealing that the Bernie campaign violated campaign finance laws by funding members of the Australian Labor Party to <strong>&#8220;deface and\/or destroy campaign materials and signs of Sanders\u2019 opponents \u2014 on both sides of the political aisle.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response to the lawsuit threat, Project Veritas Assistant Communications Director, Luara Loomer, told <a href=\"http:\/\/sputniknews.com\/us\/201612011048073016-sanders-campaign-project-veritas-lawsuit\/\">Sputnik News<\/a> simply that they too would be &#8220;pursuing justice&#8221; after<strong> &#8220;The Bernie Sanders campaign committed an egregious violation of campaign finance law.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"max-width-video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"fluid-width-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"fitvid688239\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/p7kPtWAzvU4\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the undercover video, published back in February, potentially reveals the violation of several federal laws including enlisting the help of a foreign national with a federal election and tampering with &#8220;political advertising which is placed on or affixed to public property or any private property.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"quote_end\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Federal election law prohibits a foreign national from directly or indirectly contributing money or any other thing of value to a Federal, state, or local election. <\/strong>This includes the payment by any person of compensation for the personal services of another person which are rendered to a political committee without charge for any purpose.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe payment for the personal services of another person if those services are rendered without charge to a political committee for any purpose, except for legal and accounting services\u2026 is a contribution,: 52 U.S.C. 30101(8)(A) explains.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The volunteers were allegedly used to deface and\/or destroy campaign materials and signs of Sanders\u2019 opponents \u2014 on both sides of the political aisle.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Stealing or vandalizing political advertisement is illegal, the law states <strong>\u201cno person shall remove, deface,or knowingly destroy any political advertising which is placed on or affixed to public property or any private property.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the video released by Project Veritas, the Australian nationals are seen stealing Trump signs.
